 They call this I think the butterfly back system so there's two different options on the Mira 2 there's one as I mentioned there's one version without this material and it's just a hard back I kind of like the fact that it's got the material on here it does you know the breathable the breathable sort of material fabric here does provide some additional comfort and you don't feel like you're just sitting against plastic whereas the version without this material on the back you're just sitting right up against plastic and then also this chair just looks really cool too you know I didn't get any frills or different colors with this chair anything it's just your basic you know charcoal black chair but I think it looks quite cool and quite modern you know especially if I have it like it's just like that and I'm not using it you know on my desk it just looks cool when you walk into the room it just kind of looks like a cool modern chair so you know in general I think it is a really good chair especially if you can find a totally like a new one like this you know brand new on the used market. The one thing in terms of all the options that this particular chair is missing is the forward tilt option there is an option where you can get it to where you can actually tilt the seat forward for you know if you like to like lean forward a little bit while you're working temporarily you can you can do that with that option this chair does not have that but I did used to have a chair that had that and I ended up kind of not liking it too much because I ended up using it too much when I shouldn't have been and I kind of didn't know whether to leave it in that position or leave it in the flat position mostly and it just became a little bit of a conundrum with that so I find that if I'm sitting back in this chair and I do want to like stretch my back or lean forward a little bit I can still do that just consciously by leaning forward in the chair and my back wouldn't be contacting you know the back of the chair and then the chair just defaults to having a straight you know tilt. The other thing on the Mira 2 chair is it doesn't have a seat pan adjustment where like some chairs the seat can actually be moved forward and backward but it does have a thing here where you can actually pull up this lever and then move this down you know so depending on you know your legs you can actually move this way down like so it tilts down like if you're a little bit shorter so that's a cool design as well. All in all I'm really happy with this Mira 2 chair I even tried the much more expensive Embodi chair which is I guess their top of the line office chair and I didn't like it as much that one was comfortable but it didn't have as good lumbar support and for me that is extremely important the lumbar support and the lower back support to me is the most important thing in a chair

It has seat height adjustment, seat depth adjustment, four-way adjustable arms, adjustable lumbar support, tension adjustment, and three-position tilt lock

 If they just had a wider range and got narrower, these would probably be the number one arms that we've had a chance to test. Herman Miller Mirra 2 Ergonomic Chair Review

 The chair folds down. So if you're not six foot four, you've got quite a bit of space there. So that's not right for me. I would just click that and it automatically lifts up, giving me that better support because you're supposed to have a fist size gap between the back of your knees and the chair

 Then where you've got it exactly where you want it, you just tighten those up and you can feel it apply the pressure into your lumbar, therefore supporting you better in the back. And then on this side, you have the tension knob that you just wind clockwise or anti-clockwise and that adjusts the tension on the reclining position. So you can loosen it right off so it just falls back or you can have a bit of pressure there and that is fully adjustable. And then also on this side you have the, there you go, the height adjustment and gas cylinder I believe

 And when I say the mesh back, it's actually quite a solid plastic, but it's moulded in a way that it does give. And you do have the lumbar supports that come with it. So just go over very quickly every bit of adjustment that it will do again. And I think that is the correct seating position

 I have it all the way at the top and then you just click that in and that's solidly in. And then you've got this arm pad that is cushioned and that's very comfortable and that will go forward. I've already got it forward to the full amount or you can push it back, forward, back. It will also go in, which I've got it all the way in, or you can push it out to make more space at your side

Herman Miller Mirra 2 One year on review

 What I really love about this chair is the recline mechanism. It mimics the one on the Aran. Well, it's basically the same mechanism I believe. And it's just very fun and easy to rock back and forth

 The question is how much annoying would it be during extended hours. I have no idea yet but if you're skinny like me and if you're not very tall then this might be a problem. The other issue that I'm facing is the lumbar support. Don't get me wrong I really love the lumbar support in this chair

 And this is just enough for me because this way I can move close to my desk. I have support for my shoulders and I can still work with the keyboard. What I really love about this chair is the recline mechanism. It mimics the one on the Aran

 Well, I don't love them like the Aron ones but they're quite good. So people tend to not love the shape of the armrest. But the thing is it actually helps when you're rocking your chair. It doesn't actually touch the table, the desk this way

 And that's the reason why I actually transitioned away from it here in the office to an Amia chair. It felt like in the tailbone region, it just offers me a bit better support. But at home, I'm still using the Steelcase Leap V2 chair two to three hours every single day. Hopefully you found this video helpful

 One of the reasons why this chair consistently gets picked by our staff as a best overall for most people is because of how adjustable it is. Really, the entire chair will adjust to fit almost any body type. First, specifically, we look at just seat height range because this is going to be one of the more core components of getting a chair set to you. It will go all the way down to 15 and a half inches and up to as high as 20 and a half inches

 The LEAP also has one of the most comfortable backrests and a lot of that comes down to, again, much like the seat, the fact that it is flexible. It moves around with you. And you'll notice with this chair that this material that they use, this plastic polypropylene material, allows you to really flex it. You can see me just moving it in my hands

Steelcase Leap v2 Review: My Opinion 3 Years Later

 I'm only 5ft 10in so I doubt I should be feeling an open area behind my rear while sitting on this chair.  My next issue also involves the base. It rocks back and forth by about 1/5 of an inch. I'm not sure if that's a conscious design decision but it's annoying when I try to re-position myself in the chair

 If I try to push myself up with my legs the base tips forward and makes the process of readjusting a bit more fatiguing.  My last issue so far is the clicking noise the chair makes when I lean back in it. I understand why my cheap old chair creaked and clicked when I would move back and forth. For this price would expect the chair to operate silently however

Chair is comfortable but a few build quality issues

Just as the title says, I tried the Steelcase Gesture, the Herman Miller Embody Gaming Edition and the Aeron Remastered. Out of these three, I ended up keeping the Aeron and returning the others.

I bought the Gesture, the Embody and the Aeron and only kept the Aeron. AMA!

The chair is offered in leather but the fabric was more suited to resist wear from what I read (plus breathe-ability), plus that was an ungodly expensive option. The chrome around the seat base is something I chose not to upgrade either; the plastic down there and the rest of the chair still looks great. ***Buying a used chair is more frugal, but you aren't likely to find a Gesture. *** I weighed buying the Leap/Aeron used for significantly less and ended up going for the Gesture knowing how much I was going to use it and I don't regret my purchase

Entering year three as a Steelcase Gesture with Headrest owner... still happy. This thing is built like a tank.

Make sure your monitors are raised up, and use a footrest if necessary.  All important.

Ergonomics chair help

 HEADREST IS A MUST! Trust me you won't have buyers remorse. Actually considering buying a second one to have one at home and one at work.

I am truly, madly, passionately, head-over-heels in love with this chair. Had been delaying buying one for years because of the price, and now I regret all of that time lost. It is incredibly customizable (with extreme ease) and feels like it was made for the individual sitting in it. Worth every last cent

Can I marry a chair?!

Given I live in a hot country, this is one of the main things that swayed my decision. I would love the option for a mesh seat like the Aeron, but that would basically be a completely different chair design so I get why Steelcase doesn't offer it. The Gesture wheel base assembly is made of metal, although I've never had a problem with plastic for this component since I'm usually barefoot at home and won't wear the plastic down by scraping it with shoes.
