Okay so this new Onyx Ultramat finish option has been released last year and is a darker version of the usual graphite colorway. Long story short, this is a black Aeron, while the usual graphite option is more of a dark grey. The materials here are a bit different as there's a higher percentage of recycled plastic, making it more sustainable than the standard colorway

 It was still a taxable benefit, so all things considered, the chair costed me a little under a thousand Canadian dollars, all in all. Still, cheaper than a used Remastered model. Other reasons I went with a new one is because I wanted the Remastered model, which is rarer on the used market. My experience with Aeron Classics was that they weren't super comfortable

 Okay so, should you get the Aeron? It is a great chair, but it is also very expensive and there are a bunch of great ergonomic options at more affordable prices out there. I would get this chair mainly for the mesh design, which is super well implemented here compared to other cheaper copycats, but also for the forward tilt feature as I just described. As for buying it new, if the chair wasn't partially paid by my employer, I would totally go with a used remastered in good condition. Even though the 12 year warranty would be void, these chairs hardly break and if they do, there are plenty of replacement parts out there given how widespread they are

Hi guys, I've been working from home for almost a year now. bought 3 office chair that doesn't really last. I love to lean on my chair but I noticed that I have a backpain all the time from working and sitting for 12 hours a day.   


Are there any chairs that can help with posture and lessen the back pain? I used to buy chairs around $150 - $250 price range and I have tried 2nd hand ones but the same issue. I am now thinking of investing a much higher price.

Needs an office chair recommendations

 You can go with a really low price chair that you might have to replace once every one or two years or you could go with a mid-market chair that might last four or five years that you're going to be replacing twice in that life cycle. But the Aeron chair is going to last that full 12 years with the warranty and you're going to be using one of the best chairs on the market for that entire time. So it all depends on what you value, how much you're going to be using the chair and what you want to spend on a per year basis. People on used websites don't like to know you are profiting from them.

. figured I'd give it a shot as a software developer :)  Think of this purchase like a bed. You want a good quality bed that is comfortable and will last a while since you spend a good chunk of your life on it. This chair is so comfortable and ergonomic you forget you're even sitting! It is definitely pricey, especially since you can get squishy plastic office chairs for $100 elsewhere, but it is definitely top quality

I heard Drake, Adam Levine, and those celeb types use these chairs in the studio... figured I'd give it a shot as a software developer :)  Think of this purchase like a bed

 but it was the entire top and bottom. Pre-assembled! I just had to attach the two pieces together and adjust the settings. It was a pleasant "assembly-required" experience :)

 They call this I think the butterfly back system so there's two different options on the Mira 2 there's one as I mentioned there's one version without this material and it's just a hard back I kind of like the fact that it's got the material on here it does you know the breathable the breathable sort of material fabric here does provide some additional comfort and you don't feel like you're just sitting against plastic whereas the version without this material on the back you're just sitting right up against plastic and then also this chair just looks really cool too you know I didn't get any frills or different colors with this chair anything it's just your basic you know charcoal black chair but I think it looks quite cool and quite modern you know especially if I have it like it's just like that and I'm not using it you know on my desk it just looks cool when you walk into the room it just kind of looks like a cool modern chair so you know in general I think it is a really good chair especially if you can find a totally like a new one like this you know brand new on the used market. The one thing in terms of all the options that this particular chair is missing is the forward tilt option there is an option where you can get it to where you can actually tilt the seat forward for you know if you like to like lean forward a little bit while you're working temporarily you can you can do that with that option this chair does not have that but I did used to have a chair that had that and I ended up kind of not liking it too much because I ended up using it too much when I shouldn't have been and I kind of didn't know whether to leave it in that position or leave it in the flat position mostly and it just became a little bit of a conundrum with that so I find that if I'm sitting back in this chair and I do want to like stretch my back or lean forward a little bit I can still do that just consciously by leaning forward in the chair and my back wouldn't be contacting you know the back of the chair and then the chair just defaults to having a straight you know tilt. The other thing on the Mira 2 chair is it doesn't have a seat pan adjustment where like some chairs the seat can actually be moved forward and backward but it does have a thing here where you can actually pull up this lever and then move this down you know so depending on you know your legs you can actually move this way down like so it tilts down like if you're a little bit shorter so that's a cool design as well. All in all I'm really happy with this Mira 2 chair I even tried the much more expensive Embodi chair which is I guess their top of the line office chair and I didn't like it as much that one was comfortable but it didn't have as good lumbar support and for me that is extremely important the lumbar support and the lower back support to me is the most important thing in a chair

 The chair folds down. So if you're not six foot four, you've got quite a bit of space there. So that's not right for me. I would just click that and it automatically lifts up, giving me that better support because you're supposed to have a fist size gap between the back of your knees and the chair

 Then where you've got it exactly where you want it, you just tighten those up and you can feel it apply the pressure into your lumbar, therefore supporting you better in the back. And then on this side, you have the tension knob that you just wind clockwise or anti-clockwise and that adjusts the tension on the reclining position. So you can loosen it right off so it just falls back or you can have a bit of pressure there and that is fully adjustable. And then also on this side you have the, there you go, the height adjustment and gas cylinder I believe
