 So you're going to have a nice height range. But then the arms articulate from two different pivot points and then they also have a depth function, and so you can put these arms in a ton of different positions. They remind me a lot of the gesture and leap arms because they just give you a wider range, because that articulating motion, as opposed to just the arm caps going in four or three directions, plus the height the one big distinguishing factor between the fern and the Other hayworth chairs is going to be its backrest design because of the four layer technology. It'S a very soft design when you use it, it's very flexible and you do sink into it and it's very comfortable because it gives you a ton of freedom of movement

 And then you do get one locking position, which is nice and they include four-way arms, which is cool with height depth, swivel the whole shebang there and then you do get a pretty nice lumbar adjustment system that offers a decent range. The seat is pretty well padded. No hard edges very well rounded seat that should be comfortable for most people a little bit more on the firm side, but still softer than a lot of chairs that we've tested, and i do think the back rest is pretty comfortable. So, overall for a 500 chair, i do like the soji a lot just because there's not a lot to not like about the chair

 We paid 4.89 for ours, and this is currently my favorite chair under that 500 mark. Just because i think it's a very well-rounded chair and you are getting a lot of bang for your buck in this price range, starting with the warranty which is going to apply it to all four chairs that we look at in today's video. Getting 12 years of coverage on the whole chair, except for the upholstery, you do get five years of coverage on that, so a little less coverage than herman miller or steel case, but still right up there as one of the industry leaders and you also do get A nice return policy from hayworth when buying directly from them 30 days and they will pay for return

 So this chair was 794 dollars when we ordered it. I will say that it's got a very similar, build to the soji, not a huge difference there, but you are getting a few more adjustments and a little bit more functionality and that's where the price jump comes, and so the first big difference is going to be Just in the mechanism and how the chair reclines, instead of just having a standard synchro tilt with one upright locking position like on the soji you're, going to get three options with the very and you're going to get a much deeper recline as compared to a standard. Synchro tilt, so the first mode is just going to be a free, recline and you're going to have a full range. So if that's your price range, i would definitely be looking at the zodi chair and last but not least, we've got the fern, which i would assume is quickly becoming hayworth's most popular ergonomic chair, just because this is one of the coolest chairs out right now

 So then, when i'm sitting on this chair because of that lumbar support, oh it feels much nicer. So personally, i really like the embody, but the fern does a really good job emulating a lot of the good features here now, the only two things that i can really see. The difference of the two is the top uh the back seat here, where, when i'm sitting on the embody, it really kind of hugs me in the back, but not overly, but just enough, so that it feels really comfortable just either sitting or laying back and second Thing i noticed was on the fern. There'S a gap between the back and the seat versus the embody is just one piece

 So it's got that going on, but because it's a rubber bubble, it's gon na give you additional aggress, like five mildly, aggressive lumbar, which i really like, but because it's a bubble. It'S also going to flex with you, and it feels really really nice. Now, it's not just the tall back and a nice lumbar. That makes a good backrest, but it's also the way it was designed, as you can see, as it goes up it narrows in and what that means is that when you sit on the chair, i've had a i've used a lot of tallback chairs before, but one Of the big downsides of some of the tallbacks is that when you sit on it and you pull your arms back your arms, your your triceps bang into the frame of the back, but this backrest was designed because of that narrowing you get a ton of room To spread out that chest without ever running into the back, so this allows you to sit very freely, allows you to sit properly, and it's just it's just so good as promised

 Not only can it go up and down and then of course you can lean back, but the way it leans back is that you get four interval locks, so you get the top block, which makes it pretty fully locked and then you can lower it one time To go a little lower, then two times to go even lower and then three times to go even lower and then four times to go all the way down, and this thing goes back pretty darn far the one thing it doesn't have, just like all the other Big chair companies is that you cannot lock this in place while lean back. I really wish you could, but fortunately you can't, but in addition to the lean back, you also get this knob here in which you can tighten or loosen the back tilt tension, and it works really well about 10 turns gets you from fully loose to fully tight And be very careful because if you loosen your chair, you will fly back as i learned, if you it's about 10. Yes, this thing will just let you fly back so be very careful for my ergonomic rebels and my tall freak of nature friends. This seat depth can come forward

 So it doesn't feel like my body's, like arching backwards, so it's really comfortable. So i stole dan's mavic's m7 because initially it felt pretty good, but after a few months sitting in it, i started feeling really uncomfortable, especially in the lower back area. So then, when i'm sitting on this chair because of that lumbar support, oh it feels much nicer. So personally, i really like the embody, but the fern does a really good job emulating a lot of the good features here now, the only two things that i can really see

My New #1 Chair Pick - Haworth Fern

* **Haworth Fern**: This chair definitely looked better in pictures than it did in person. The design is cool but all the plastic just looks kind of cheap. To be fair, it was less than half the price of the Embody.

Let me start and note that I used to work for Haworth and I am currently sitting in a Haworth Fern w/Lumbar and 4D arms. Over the course of the past 3 -4 months it feels like the chair is starting to fail. Only a year old and its just not cutting the mustard. I have had this issue with a lot of chairs including the Zody and the Big n tall

I second the recommendation of the Haworth Fern. I think it might be the most stylish office chair around, especially in the very 3D and tactile digital knit. Haworth ads have been following me around the internet lately with a very millenial-bait style and they make the Fern look amazing.

She wants something that has high aesthetic value (i.e., cute in her space) but is also very comfortable, and accommodates her wider hips and the fact that she sits quite tall. Most arm rests are too low for her. I've had the same Herman Miller Aeron for 10+ years and it's still going strong - and even while she considers it comfortable, for her the arm rests don't go high enough and it looks too office-ey. She doesn't like the appearance that many office chairs with high levels of articulation and adjustment have.

She's finally admitted that she needs some help and probably won't be able to find something that meets all her demands of style and comfort.

Help! Wife has steep demands of her office chair!

 One is the eye-watering price, but it's about on par with what we spent on the HM chairs. I also wish I'd gone with a different color. The black is nice, but the hounds tooth pattern on the seat cushion is a bit jarring. I wish it was ALL black

 I did not notice that this chair being sold on Amazon does NOT have that feature and it doesn't appear to be something that can be added after the fact. Shame on me for not noticing that. I don't know what I don't know, so I can't really speak to how that impacts the overall comfort of the chair.  They call this I think the butterfly back system so there's two different options on the Mira 2 there's one as I mentioned there's one version without this material and it's just a hard back I kind of like the fact that it's got the material on here it does you know the breathable the breathable sort of material fabric here does provide some additional comfort and you don't feel like you're just sitting against plastic whereas the version without this material on the back you're just sitting right up against plastic and then also this chair just looks really cool too you know I didn't get any frills or different colors with this chair anything it's just your basic you know charcoal black chair but I think it looks quite cool and quite modern you know especially if I have it like it's just like that and I'm not using it you know on my desk it just looks cool when you walk into the room it just kind of looks like a cool modern chair so you know in general I think it is a really good chair especially if you can find a totally like a new one like this you know brand new on the used market. The one thing in terms of all the options that this particular chair is missing is the forward tilt option there is an option where you can get it to where you can actually tilt the seat forward for you know if you like to like lean forward a little bit while you're working temporarily you can you can do that with that option this chair does not have that but I did used to have a chair that had that and I ended up kind of not liking it too much because I ended up using it too much when I shouldn't have been and I kind of didn't know whether to leave it in that position or leave it in the flat position mostly and it just became a little bit of a conundrum with that so I find that if I'm sitting back in this chair and I do want to like stretch my back or lean forward a little bit I can still do that just consciously by leaning forward in the chair and my back wouldn't be contacting you know the back of the chair and then the chair just defaults to having a straight you know tilt. The other thing on the Mira 2 chair is it doesn't have a seat pan adjustment where like some chairs the seat can actually be moved forward and backward but it does have a thing here where you can actually pull up this lever and then move this down you know so depending on you know your legs you can actually move this way down like so it tilts down like if you're a little bit shorter so that's a cool design as well. All in all I'm really happy with this Mira 2 chair I even tried the much more expensive Embodi chair which is I guess their top of the line office chair and I didn't like it as much that one was comfortable but it didn't have as good lumbar support and for me that is extremely important the lumbar support and the lower back support to me is the most important thing in a chair

Herman Miller Mirra 2 Ergonomic Chair Review

 The chair folds down. So if you're not six foot four, you've got quite a bit of space there. So that's not right for me. I would just click that and it automatically lifts up, giving me that better support because you're supposed to have a fist size gap between the back of your knees and the chair

 Then where you've got it exactly where you want it, you just tighten those up and you can feel it apply the pressure into your lumbar, therefore supporting you better in the back. And then on this side, you have the tension knob that you just wind clockwise or anti-clockwise and that adjusts the tension on the reclining position. So you can loosen it right off so it just falls back or you can have a bit of pressure there and that is fully adjustable. And then also on this side you have the, there you go, the height adjustment and gas cylinder I believe

 And when I say the mesh back, it's actually quite a solid plastic, but it's moulded in a way that it does give. And you do have the lumbar supports that come with it. So just go over very quickly every bit of adjustment that it will do again. And I think that is the correct seating position

 I have it all the way at the top and then you just click that in and that's solidly in. And then you've got this arm pad that is cushioned and that's very comfortable and that will go forward. I've already got it forward to the full amount or you can push it back, forward, back. It will also go in, which I've got it all the way in, or you can push it out to make more space at your side

 What I really love about this chair is the recline mechanism. It mimics the one on the Aran. Well, it's basically the same mechanism I believe. And it's just very fun and easy to rock back and forth

 The question is how much annoying would it be during extended hours. I have no idea yet but if you're skinny like me and if you're not very tall then this might be a problem. The other issue that I'm facing is the lumbar support. Don't get me wrong I really love the lumbar support in this chair
