 I don't think it's intentional, but just realize what you see here is what you get, not what you see on the website. But overall it's a great scooter for the price. I'd say it's not some crazy hyper scooter, but it goes well. It feels reasonably powerful, and it's portable

 You're not going to get 25 miles at full speed, and even then you would only get 25 miles if you're constantly going the same speed, never starting and stopping. The more you start to stop, the more the scooter will drain its battery. I now have to mention a point that I'd rather not mention, but this would not be a fair review if I didn't mention it.  If you press and hold it, the display shows your current speed in miles per hour and also the remaining battery percentage. This display is fairly intuitive and easy to use, but the cruise control is a different story. The cruise control will lock in place when you press the throttle and you hold it one position for too long. It can be very useful, but it can also lock in position and keep you at the speed if you don't want it to

 Obviously I'm not going to leave the scooter outside for long, however if I just jump into a store I feel comfortable knowing that the bike has a passcode on it and not anybody can just jump on and drive it away. Lastly, this new scooter has air filled tires. The tires filled with air make for a much more comfortable ride. For rides of 1 to 3 minutes it's definitely not that bad to have the old tires, however for longer rides this scooter feels much better to have an air filled tire

I would say the Segway NineBot Max fits those requirements although I haven't personally had to deal with their customer service myself. I've had mine for about 6 months and still love it, especially after adding a few modifications.

scooter recommendation!

For riding in any weather the best option I would go for is the Segway Ninebot Max, but that will be over your budget. On the plus side it should definitely last, as its a very well built scooter. I got over 1000km on my G30LP and had zero issues with it, only thing I do is check tyre pressure and inflate when needed.

Looking to get a scooter for work

So because of that tradeoff- I do not recommend the purchase if you are 200+ lbs. Unless you don't need I beyond 10 miles, then I would recommend this scooter. Or if you live in flat places, it might be better.

Pros- good build unlike the es3 that costco offered a year ago, this scooter will likely stand the test of time. The es3 started rattling and was loose after going over bumps in the road within a month in San Francisco, which had bad streets, pot holes everywhere.

Range isn't a big issue for me as work is within a couple miles and I can charge it at work. I do want to keep it fairly portable as my apartment is upstairs and I would have to bring it downstairs at work. The only scooter I've ridden previously is a Segway Ninebot Max and I did enjoy it, though I can see that the power on it wouldn't be enough for me forever and I would like to have some suspension.

 If you weight 210 and aiming to use it daily for 20-30 miles, I would seriously consider buying a bike rather. Specification says it has capacity of 220lb, from my own experience it can but in a few days you going to lose your bearing. That's something really to consider before purchasing it.

It's a great scooter if you weigh up to 170lb.

 It’s just over 40lb. I believe and I couldn’t easily carry it and stash it on the bus/train for commuting. Has to return unfortunately.

 Rear fender stiffener and front grocery hook. Im gonna buy some handle bar turn signals "CYCL Wing Lights Fixed V3" and probably a left side bar mount rear view mirror.
