I've been looking at the Moto One 5G Ace, and also the (seemingly non-existent) Moto One 5G UW. The Ace isn't even on A11 and probably won't even get 12. So I was debating spending more and going to Pixel 5a or newer, Samsung higher-ish end, or some other phone in line a bit with Moto G Power unless the Ace is still actually worth buying, since it is on sale with Black Friday currently. Not sure what Motorola is thinking, but the newer Moto G Powers are just downgrades. Has anyone switched to a different brand recently?

Upgrading from Moto G Power 2020, not much luck finding anything.

 Regarding autonomy, it's been a while since I found myself in a situation where I no longer had to worry about recharging my phone for a whole day.  And finally, for the price, the performance and general experience far exceed that of the LG G6.  Verdict, no need to buy a flagship to have a very good phone

Now, with the battery this big, you're definitely not gonna have a big problem with battery life, and even when you do need to plug it in with that fast charging, it's gonna charge up a lot faster than other phones that don't support fast charging.  The phone is relatively powerful for a device in this price range. You'll get a qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor coupled with three gigabytes of ram and 32 gigabytes of storage. A 4 series chip is quite a step down from a 6 series chip, but it still does the job for most use cases. You'll easily be able to do most basic tasks, but expect skips and freezes in software every now and then

Motorola Moto G Play 2021 Review

 Motorola claims it will get three days of battery life, which is probably true if you’re a light user and conservative with your screen brightness. I had no problem getting two days on a charge with a couple of hours each day of screen-on time. A full day and then some of heavy use is definitely reasonable to expect. 

The G Play uses a Snapdragon 460 chipset which was introduced over a year ago and is an entry-level Qualcomm processor. Coupled with 3GB of RAM, it manages to keep up with routine tasks like jumping between apps and scrolling social media, albeit with subtle-but-noticeable stuttering along the way. Heavier tasks like starting and stopping Google Maps navigation take an extra couple of beats. It’s not as frustrating as my experience with the LG Stylo 6 was, but it’s a step down from the kind of performance you can expect from a phone that’s $50-100 more expensive, including those in Motorola’s own G-series lineup

There’s better news on the battery front. The G Play includes a 5,000mAh battery, which is significantly bigger than the typical 4,000 or 4,500mAh found in other comparably sized Android phones. Outside in good lighting, this 13-megapixel camera does okay. Overall exposures are balanced and the camera doesn’t try to do too much HDR-ing, which I appreciate, but you don’t have to look too close to notice that details in grass and leaves are smoothed over. Things go downhill quickly in less good light — the G Play just isn’t up to low-light photography. The selfie camera is also guilty of aggressive over-smoothing at its default “Face Beauty Auto” setting that made my face look like a glazed donut

 The camera is decent, but not particularly sharp, even at 13MB -- my old Samsung S9 had a better camera. All in all, a decent phone and a very good price.

It's a budget phone that sacrifices any sense of a good camera in exchange for a lower price tag and a strong battery life. Sometimes the web browser will freeze up, especially when watching vides on YouTube, and the flashlight sometimes gets turned on somehow but other then that I have no complaints thus far.  Phone is big, which makes typing/texting easier then on previous phones I've owned. Screen resolution is surprisingly good and paired with the phones size combines for good feelings on the eyes

 It once happened and I didn't realize it was on until my Boss asked me to turn off the bright light aimed straight at her face. It happens more then I would like it to, but this is a budget phone; the performance plays off the price.  My original statement still stands, regardless of these minor issues. It's a solid buy for the reasons stated initially and is a great placeholder for someone saving up to afford a pricey phone
