At less than $10 this Cuisinart bread knife does not look like our Global kitchen knives, but it works about as well as Global bread knives that cost $100-$190. (I know, comparing a Cuisinart knife to a Global knife is like comparing a Ford to a Rolls Royce, but when all is said and done, both of them will get you to and from work.)

However, some might feel that the 8.4-ounce Dalstrong knife is too hefty for comfort, and with a smooth, straight handle, you may find yourself wishing it had a more ergonomic grip to steady the weight in your hand. Still, the quality of this knife is undeniable, and we'd expect it to be a long-standing tool in the kitchen.
