I've looked pretty extensively at the best value purifiers in terms of cost to CADR rato and found the winners to be the Coway Mighty AP-1512HH (note: NOT the AirMega) and the Blue air 211+. These models get high ratings from consumer reports and Wirecutter as well. I have 2 of the mighties for our bedrooms and a 211+ for our living room and have been happy with them. 

Looking for some personal recommendations from people running air purifiers in there home because im looking to buy one. Any advice or feedback is welcome

Edit2: Im looking for the best model possible for HEPA filtration and a carbon solution for gas/VOC/odor. that would hopefully work for most of the house. I will eventually add another unit or two to supplement. I&#39;m trying to find the top of the line, best of the best air purifier. Something that blows the competition out of the water and has a solid warranty and build quality. High purchase price is okay.

 It turns on higher when needed, when it detects odors and impurities in the air (just now, when my son is making popcorn, it kicked on). It's a powerhouse that works really well. I also like that it's compact and has a nice sleek look to it. It blends into the decor and I'm really glad it's not black

Noticeable improvement

 I keep mine in "auto" mode and that really works - if any type of particulate matter is introduced to the room (like cigar smoke, for instance) the unit goes into high gear until the air is clean again. I am quite pleased with the purchase and would definitely recommend this product.

 These arrived on my doorstep: less than 48 hours after ordering took them down to the basement, pulled the original filter and compared these to that one side by side they appear to be absolutely identical, the box they were shipped in and the filters were in perfect shape. As well immediately installed, one of these and the fit was perfect as well i'll post, a follow-up with my opinion on the performance. These are supposed to last a year according to my heating and cooling company, but due to having pets living on a farm and a child with asthma and allergies. We change them every six months

 That'S a no-brainer! If this first one performs, as it should i'll turn around and purchase a second set or two right away, so i always have a supply on hand. 

 One can get that's why i was surprised it arrived very damaged, looks like it was damaged before it was packet, though the shipping box wasn't in the best condition either one filter was crushed, the other had holes in the filter media. This was supplied by same day, supply inc, i'll, be returning edit. I contacted the seller directly and they promptly shipped out a new pair of filters, no point going through amazon's return, charade for something that's going to get trashed anyway. 5 starts for the seller

If you have allergies like i do, do not compromise get the proven best: a merv 16. I have so much allergies to include dust, pollen dander. I have two old cats i got before i developed the dander allergy. I got rid of those little standalone air filter that apparently gets rid of that only this work, because it's centralized to my hvac, i can't say much for the actual filter, looks original quality and i'm sure it works

These filters made a huge difference along with a UV light hooked up along or coil but I noticed an immediate difference when I put this charcoal filter in I have had a problems dry air with our New Lennox System put in our old house and I think it moved stuff around that wasn't healthy so these filters are a life-changer and worth every penny

Obviously, this item is too expensive overall but having said that: the item if favorably prices compared to other sources and it does a good job for what it is supposed to do, namely keeping air circulated cleaning up dirty and micro small particles.

Allergies go away, dust, microbes, spores and more are filtered away and I (at least) can tell the difference between these and the poorly made brands that offer less than Merv 16.

This gets rid of your allergies (or at least it helps.)

My 3 dogs leave a lot of hair and dander and despite daily vacuuming, the air was inundated with dust/allergens. I got this system to dispel these pollutants. Dust and hair is everywhere.

I am experiencing a reduction in cooling time for my upstairs. However, I am reserving my final opinion until my HVAC company has completed the replacement of some ducting runs and the enlarging of a few others. I'd advise homeowners to check their ducting to make sure it's not encumbered (kinked or leaky) or dirty, if they experience reduced airflow. I'm introducing a fresh air line to both systems since my attic is foamed and not vented which was creating airflow problems prior

 I added a Lennox dehumidifier/humidifier that is adjustable. I'll also report back on my electric bill in intervening months.
