I've looked pretty extensively at the best value purifiers in terms of cost to CADR rato and found the winners to be the Coway Mighty AP-1512HH (note: NOT the AirMega) and the Blue air 211+. These models get high ratings from consumer reports and Wirecutter as well. I have 2 of the mighties for our bedrooms and a 211+ for our living room and have been happy with them. 

Looking for some personal recommendations from people running air purifiers in there home because im looking to buy one. Any advice or feedback is welcome

Edit2: Im looking for the best model possible for HEPA filtration and a carbon solution for gas/VOC/odor. that would hopefully work for most of the house. I will eventually add another unit or two to supplement. I&#39;m trying to find the top of the line, best of the best air purifier. Something that blows the competition out of the water and has a solid warranty and build quality. High purchase price is okay.

 We have a golden retriever and sage brush in the lots behind our house, so lots of dander and allergens.  But after a few weeks, I came home from work and the whole house smelled sort of dirty sweet. My girlfriend couldn't smell it, but I have good nose and she doesn't.  I give it 4 stars for doing what its supposed to do - I no longer suffer sore throats or sinus issues in the morning when I wake up - but what gives with part of it breaking so easily and quickly?

I'll start with the good stuff: I did a bit of research into what air purifier units were recommended by sites that aimed to help those suffering from mold issues (me) and allergy problems. I felt I could trust recommendations by websites that didn't sell air purifiers, only had feedback and input from experts and users as to which ones did a good job. Well, Austin Air came up again and again as a good manufacturer, and I thought this unit was the right fit for what I needed. They do make this same item, the Healthmate, in 2 smaller sizes for less money

I bought this because I was moving into a nice basement apartment and figured it would be good to get any potentially harmful particles out of the air. I had been looking for one that would cover the square footage that I have and this one was one of the few that could.
