I deleted my last post - it wasn't clear enough, and I've spent a good amount of time since last night (I'm neurotic like that) about "bookshelf" speakers - and WAF.  Speakers will be powered by a [SONOS Amp](https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/amp.html) (this is not necessarily the unit - I am open to other suggestions for an A/V receiver, with a budget of $350)  - I am getting one for a great price.  **My budget is $300**, but the less expensive, the better.

Household music consists of jam rock, progressive, metal, pop & country via NAS or streaming.

My question: what is going to be the best bang for my buck:

) I have this amp in my bedroom running some Paradigm Reference Q100b’s with inputs supplied by an Arylic S50 Pro+. Obviously at this price point Cambridge made a pretty big concession- no digital inputs at all. That said- an Arylic S50 is $220 and gives you streaming and plenty of digital inputs along with a pretty decent DAC- so the 2 pieces together cost $70 more than the Denon. The combination sounds WAY BETTER than $70 more- the bass is far more detailed and tight, the highs are crisp without being fatiguing, and vocals are incredibly clear

 It is a monster on the power front- I can’t imagine anyone turning it up past 50% in a very large room- but because the soundstage is what it is, despite the extra volume it never sounds like it ever comes “alive”. Maybe it’s a bad pairing with my Paradigms, but I’ve heard these speakers with a similarly powered Marantz and they sounded better there. For $350 if there is a better stereo amplifier out there- I’ve not seen or heard it. To add the digital streaming/connectivity to bring it on par with the other 2 makes the price the same, but provides superior sound quality, and flexibility

 I can’t speak to the long term durability as I have only had it for a couple days- but I’ve never had a stereo component outright fail on me before and as solid as this one feels I doubt it will be my first. The volume knob feels great, the display is nice- but not really legible from across the room. The remote is unremarkable but successfully makes the amp louder or quieter on command so it’s hard to complain. The sound from the NAD 3020 is better than the Denon- but it’s not neutral- it sounds fatter to my ears- richer and detailed, but lacks punch compared to the other two

 So to sum up, the Cambridge is the best amp of the bunch, and the cheapest to purchase. The build quality is definitely NOT cheap though. It looks and sounds spectacular. My second choice would be the NAD, for its size and flexibility- though if you want to play music loud- you’ll want to look elsewhere

Admittedly this is my first Integrated Amplifier. I've as recently as last November started getting into vinyl records and back into my old CDs and I was in the market for an amplifier but, didn't want to spend more than $500.  This is perfect. This pairs very well (to my ears) with my Klipsch R-51M speakers and works well with my Yamaha subwoofer (yes you can plug your sub into the Rec Out output and it'll work WELL) and I love that it's an Integrated Amplifier because if I ever wanted to upgrade my turntable I don't have to worry about getting a preamp or making sure the turntable comes with one

Listening at night, here's where i tried the variable uh loudness knob, and i liked it very much it is designed very well. It boosts your low frequency, just the right amount to compensate for your inability are humans, inability to uh pick up low frequency at softer, lower listening levels, and it does so again without messing around with tonal balance or coherence

I had a A-s301, turned me on to the Yamaha sound, and made me look into their 80s gear which is where I landed. If you ever want to do the same yamaha R-9 and Yamaha A-1000 are excellent. Both will need to be serviced, the yamaha R-9 is a sleeper, and doesn't cost much, it has a far far far superior phono stage to the A-S301, but the A-1000 has a better phono stage than both.

 This is one I've been really anticipating making. Obviously this is going to be a review of the Yamaha, A s 301, and you probably saw in the title that this is going to be a bit of a different perspective from Z reviews, because he's the only review I could in depth review. I could really find of this amp on YouTube and what I mean by the different perspective, from what Zee reviews did is Z. Reviews is a basically he's, a quote

 If they put, you know vu meters there or something, but I know they say that for their ultra expensive, amps but yeah, something like vu meters, air or screen telling you what your volume something you know that would have been kind of nice, but again deep Minor Nitpicks very minor nitpicks. These are not things that would tell say, say: hey you know whatever, I'm totally fine with it, the way that it is and the reason I would recommend this over an AV receiver is the primary reason to get an integrated amp. Is you want to buy something where you know? Every single penny was spent on basically, a minimal set of features and sound quality. That is all there was no

Yamaha AS 301 Integrated Amplifier Review Part 1

 The bass was always a bit thin, even with the loudness control turned on. So, I got online and started looking for an amp that would sound good but also provide more oomph to my speakers. For about a month I went back and forth between the Marantz PM8006 and the Yamaha A-S801. The thing that turned my mind in favor of the Yamaha was the A-S701 at a lower price

This integrated amp is sharp looking and built like a tank

Stunning sound and plenty of clean power.

 With a more revealing cartridge like the Ortofon 2M Blue, having the ability to shave off some of the highs with the treble control has breathed new life into some of my records. You still get all the detail but without the listening fatigue. Also, the digital coaxial and optical inputs are a welcome feature so I can hook up my TV--which sounds great. The "Loudness" control is interesting and I'm somewhat divided on its usefulness in my setup

 The minimalist I/O and controls are perfect for my needs. I thought I'd be in "Pure Direct" mode 100% of the time but the tone shaping capabilities of this thing are a life saver. With a more revealing cartridge like the Ortofon 2M Blue, having the ability to shave off some of the highs with the treble control has breathed new life into some of my records. You still get all the detail but without the listening fatigue

 The headphone amp is nice and clean and I was happy to see the 1/4" jack. I haven't had a chance to try the built-in phono pre since I use a stand alone unit--but I'm sure it's adequate. My only wish is that you could control the tone controls via the remote but I get they need to keep costs down. If you want a simple, easy-to-use, great sounding, and great looking integrated amp for your stereo vinyl setup, you be hard pressed to find something better at this price point
