My take on the best I can afford
But she's warm and cute. So she wins.). I'm running a Marantz PM7000N so that I have an amp that can run all my streaming needs and also has a phono input and is easy to use for the family.
Skeptical of the quality
I initially really liked this product, but after only two months of use it had to be sent to a repair center. I have now lost all confidence in the quality of the product.

Three words to the sound: Clear, Open, and Clean.
I am in love with this amplifier. I got this to replace my Marantz PM5005, purchased back in 2016. The Marantz sounded great for what it costed, but I wanted something more since I recently upgraded to some 4 ohms bookshelf speakers that are pretty power hungry. The main improvements were in clarity...

Product review: Marantz PM7000N network stereo amplifier - Richer Sounds Blog
rated stereo streamer, the PM7000N, which could be the answer to all of our problems. Having recently won the What Hifi? award for the best Hi-Fi system under £1000, the unit found its way into our store, where we got to see what all the fuss was about for ourselves. Built to incorporate their signature curved-front design, the unit is unmistakably Marantz, and packs in a huge range of features

Marantz PM7000N Review - All-in-one amplifier for discerning ears
But I like the harmonic reproduction in Marantz better, and all in all it has the better quality of the reproduction in my ears. By the way, Sonos Amp can only forget to compete in the same quality league. The Marantz PM7000N is an all-in-one amplifier that deserves to be taken seriously

Marantz PM7000N Review - The Absolute Sound
Despite some minor losses, overall the sound was smooth and even, relatively neutral and sweet. At $999, the PM7000N performs above and beyond the asking price, even just in terms of flexibility. For anyone looking for a high-end system without the high-end sprawl, the Marantz PM7000N offers great sound and great value
