I'm using the Viewsonic xg2705, which is 1080p, 144Hz and a great IPS panel. They also have the 1440p version, the xg2705-2k. I picked up mine for around 220 USD. I believe the 2k version is 300 USD.

The ViewSonic Elite XG270 is an excellent gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate and a fast response time, delivering images with incredible smoothness and clarity. Its FreeSync support helps to minimize screen tearing, and its remarkably low input lag provides a responsive gaming and desktop experience. Peak brightness and viewing angles are great; however, it's not the most ideal monitor for dark rooms, as its IPS panel has a low contrast ratio, and its black uniformity is rather poor. HDR support is present, and there's even some RGB bling to set the mood.

My concern is that the older model has a lot of reports of flickering at 144 Hz (which can be fixed by lowering the refresh rate to say, 142 Hz). There are no reviews for these updated models so it's hard to know if the issue is still there. Aside from that, I assume this monitor will perform pretty good and is great value.

Short version: Every monitor you order is going to come with dead pixels. This particular monitor came with dead pixels, as did the 8 other monitors I tried from amazon. With that being said, this one has a great warranty, so pull the trigger.

Upon looking up my model number Energy Star says it's a VA panel, On ViewSonics website they say it's IPS. I am regretting purchasing this monitor but am otherwise happy with it. The only points I can knock off is that the viewing angle is kind of meh.
