Trek Domane SL5 review
This bike was tested against four other bikes that we consider to be some of the best for female riders – some unisex, some women’s specific.

Is carbon fiber a big deal?
I definitely feel a difference from my Checkpoint ALR5 that was aluminum, to my Domane SL5. Def worth it (could be bias though).
I just got my 2022 52 cm trek emonda sl5 fitted by a fitter that comes highly recommended from some serious femme cyclists in the area. I am 5’3.5”with a 33” inseam (yes, my torso is non-existent).

Trek Domane SL5 Disc review
The Domane, so says Trek, has it all: ‘Blistering speed, incredible race comfort and stability, even on the punishing pavé of Flanders and Roubaix.’
So, is this the bike you’d want underneath you in order to undertake those sportives that follow the routes of the cobbled Classics? Wearing voluminou...

They still rock on pavement too! I have t lost any speed which was my big worry. If you are on the fence, go for it!. Trek SL5 with 38mm tires, I want 42’s but need to wear these out first, 2500-3500 miles a year and commute 2-3 days a week 30 miles round trip.
Great fun ride. Good for longer distances.
I ride 2-5 hours and wanted light, fast, and comfortable. This hits all three. Rear end feels a little loose cornering at high speed, though that may just be me not being used of my 2013 CrossRip.

I was looking at the Trek Domane SL5, as I’d prefer full Shimano 105 or better - this was the bike I borrowed from a friend to do the road ride mentioned above on, and really enjoyed it. That’s why I am looking at it for now, but I’m also not 100% sold on it yet. I know there are companies like Fezzari that offer higher spec for less due to being D2C, but I’m also weighing the advantages of buying through a local shop.

Bike Recommendations
If it will just be a hobby, I’d look for a lower-end road bike from a reputable brand. Something like a Giant Contend AR3, or Cannondale Synapse Sora, or Trek Domane AL2. If you think it’s something you want to do a lot, I’d recommend going up a few trim levels, likely a carbon frame with Shimano 105 (ex. Domane SL5).
Trek Domane Sl 5 Review 2022 - BikesReviewed.com
A budget of less than $3,000.Yes, the Trek Domane SL 5 is unquestionably a piece of gear that fulfills all the boxes and provides outstanding value for money. In a comparable price range, there are quicker and lighter carbon road bikes, as well as tougher bikes, but none of them strike the right balance quite like the Trek Domane SL5

I suddenly came into a budget of $3100 that I either need to spend on a bike, or forgo. What’s the best bang for my buck? I’ve never spent this much on a bike.
Trek Domane SL5. In that price range, amazing all-road bike, capable on light gravel as well (up to 38c tires).
