Brand New Flagship Soundbars for 2022 | Samsung Q990B, LG S95QR, S800B

The overall appearance of this new system seems to be a great improvement and looks more premium than its predecessor.

Why does the home theater sub have something against soundbars? If you post the word, you get told that 99.9% of them are useless.

Also, the difference in immersion is not always huge depending on the products at a $1000~$1500 price tag if you use it exclusively for video games and movies, and in some places like Europe home theaters cost a LOT more than in the US so you'll often have to spend a lot more to get a good HT. The quality of a soundbar hugely depends on your budget, the arguably most immersive one being the Samsung HW-Q990B which comes at a hefty $1600 (can be found around $1200 in some places though).

A Mid-Range Sound-bar & Subwoofer Combo that punches above its class!

I was originally looking to purchase the top of the Samsung line HW-Q990B 11.1.4 setup, but to save some money I opted for the HW-Q800B (soundbar & Subwoofer) with the SWA-9500S (Wireless Rear Speakers). And after about two months of use, I must say that I am very satisfied!

I need to buy a tv and a sound bar (in India). Thinking to get Samsung Q990B. But the widely reported issues are pushing me back.

Can anyone confirm if the issues are resolved by firmware updates?

The only thing that could make me wait for the next gen is room calibration without needing 2022 samsung TV, the improved subwoofer on the lower end ranges of the new soundbars . But realistically am I correct in saying that I won't be able to really touch the Q950a with much less than the Q990b which I expect to be >£1500?.

Should I wait for SS Q990B instead of buying Q950A ?

I personally would wait for the price to drop on the q950a once the q990b comes out. I doubt you will be gaining much in performance over the q950 to justify the newly released price. Also the display on the 900/950 being on top was a big nuisance to users. The 990 does have it on the front, but again, does that really justify the price.

what would be the recommendation for a soundbar I have 85 inch x91j sony tv.. my family room is 30x30

There are two new Samsungs that also reproduce music very well with spot-on soundstage placement in “Standard” mode and have graphic EQ control,… the HW-Q990B and the HW-Q930B. The 930 sounds almost identical to the 990 for only $1k at Best Buy. I have it in a 24 x 30 rec room for both movies and music. I highly doubt you’d ever need to crank the volume past 50% (it’s loud!)
