This is my brand new Orient Kamasu. I’m a bartender at a busy cocktail bar and my left hand gets pretty frequently wet in our rinse sink to wash tools. I originally work a Citizen watch, but it was only barely water resistant and it was a bit dressier with a leather strap so I started seeking a diver that could stand up to water better and take a bit of a beating. After looking up a few I was between this and the Seiko Turtle, but ultimately decided this was a bit sleeker looking and I LOVE the Orient logo.

It does have two annoying flaws in my opinion. First one is the date feature on the right that I thing they should have just skipped. Second is the 24 hour clock on the right sub-dial which is a useless feature, why wouldn’t it be a 24 hour timer connected to the stopwatch instead?. Orient Kamasu (RA-AA0004E19B ): the watch that made me appreciate the diver-style, yes I don’t need 20 bar water resistance, a bezel that keeps time but just the workmanship of divers is something to look for. Oh also that green dial that turns black and blue is fascinating.
