Lenovo ThinkPad W530

A used work station like a lenovo thinkpad from the p range or a HP zbook no more than a few years old and get the best spec you can find.

Wireless continuously drops on an enterprise network with 100's of other Lenovos that do not have issues. A great laptop, just the one I received was a bad one in the lot.

Sorry i'm just curious, what exactly do you do to open and close laptops so many times?

I would definitely look into business laptop. Used ones can be very affordable. dell latitude, lenovo thinkpad, hp elitebook...

Even as a then Mac bigot the Lenovo (then IBM) ThinkPad with a writing pad and touchscreen was one of the few times I had bought a Windows laptop. Fast forward to 2013 and I was given a brand new W530 for work and hate it (though much less than the lousy new HP Ultrabook). I did not get this laptop ...

In case of W530 or any other Lenovo laptop with this form factor (so T520, W520 and T530 also count) the problem is **portability** (or lack thereof). Let's be honest - this a heavy, chonky thicc boi that sports some very decent cooling and performance at a cost of being not so portable. The weight is at around 2.8kg and 170W charger you'd need anywhere to operate this thing adds some more weight to the package.

SUMMARY: The W530 is a T540p with 2 extra DIMM sockets. It is a major technology improvement over the 60 series Thinkpads, but may be heavier. RECOMMEND: If you are okay with the weight, this is a great laptop. If you need i7 and Quadro, and can endure the 540 series limitations, that will save you ...

Any recommendations or questions are welcome. Trying to find something with an amazing keyboard, matte screen, and excellent battery life to replace the W530. Not sure if the current crop of ThinkPads will cut it until they get Intel or AMD to focus on efficiency.

Had initial glitches with this laptop. It crashed couple of times. Currently its stable and by far the best machine I ever used. My Lenovo Thinkpad from nearly a decade ago hasn't been working too well for me lately, sometimes struggling with video calls and buffering videos. Also, it's graphics card isn't good enough to run a few games I'd like to play (Civ 6, Ori & the Blind Forest, Journey). Not sure if that's specifically something I'll have to look for or if all modern computers will be up to the task. I'm in the US, looking for something <1K.
