Performance

But there are plenty of drawbacks that give me pause. Update: I ended up returning this laptop as the freezeups were happening more, even after I finished doing all of the windows/driver updates. Perhaps those will be fixed in future firmware patches, but I'd rather get a computer that functions "correctly" from day one. It's weird because as I mentioned, overall performance of this laptop is very impressive and far outshines my old 2 core macbook pro, but I don't have the same freezeups on the mac (running windows) - I imagine that this has something to do with lack of AMD drivers or something

Not sure if that's specifically something I'll have to look for or if all modern computers will be up to the task. I'm in the US, looking for something <1K.

Even as a then Mac bigot the Lenovo (then IBM) ThinkPad with a writing pad and touchscreen was one of the few times I had bought a Windows laptop. Fast forward to 2013 and I was given a brand new W530 for work and hate it (though much less than the lousy new HP Ultrabook). I did not get this laptop from Amazon but love reading Amazon reviews and wanted fellow buyers here to have this review to help them buy something else from Amazon other than this Lenovo dumbbell set. In 2013 a no touchscreen Windows 8 laptop is funny enough, but it is designed by a team of truck designers or drivers

Battery Life

Great laptop for students on a budget!

The charger plug doesn’t fit nicely into the computer. I have to push it in harder than I would like to get it to charge, and I always worry that it’s going to break. However, the battery life is so great that I’ve only had to charge it once in the past three days. I’ll update later when I’ve spent more time with it

ThinkPad W530 vs M1 Max MacBook Pro... Where did the battery life go, Lenovo?

Any recommendations or questions are welcome. Trying to find something with an amazing keyboard, matte screen, and excellent battery life to replace the W530. Not sure if the current crop of ThinkPads will cut it until they get Intel or AMD to focus on efficiency.
