**Connectivity:** The machine includes 2x USB-C ports, an ethernet passthrough port (used with the docking station), 2x USB 3 type A, 1x 4 pole headphone/microphone combo jack, a micro SD card reader, an optional smartcard reader, and gigabit ethernet. I wish there were more USB A ports but I can live with it, as this is unfortunately the direction the industry is going anyway. **Power:** This thing is *fast*.

Great performance for windows, almost seamless with linux

Windows still running with no slowdown a year later. Can't say that even on most desktops. Arch linux ofc also runs fast, but takes a little work to get running properly. (somewhat standard graphics issue for resume/tty switching) I, ofc, hate the touchpad. It's good for what it is... but after ~1 h...

I recently purchased a ThinkPad T495 for £380 on eBay. Pretty lightweight, has plenty of ports, AMD and runs Linux a treat.

Can definitely recommend the T series of ThinkPads for Linux.

I'll be using it primarily for office productivity - MS Office with lots of tabs open, but no gaming, video editing, music production, or anything like that. ThinkPads were recommended to me, and it does sound like a good option.
