Lenovo ThinkPad T450

A used work station like a lenovo thinkpad from the p range or a HP zbook no more than a few years old and get the best spec you can find.

It is not a bad laptop but be careful who you purchae from. High rating do not mean the best seller if the positive reviews are from one buyer. It is a good buy if you are familar with laptop's and can update it yourself.

Six months after purchase, the laptop won't turn on. It happened suddenly one day. The only sign of life is that the light on the power button blinks three times when pressed. We called Lenovo support and they suspect the motherboard is bad.

Lenovo Thinkpad, you can't go wrong. I'm partial to the T series which I've been using for a long time. This is a general recommendation, if you start talking GPUs than you need to consider form factor for cooling etc...

Very easy setup. With Windows 10 and Office Professional 365 my notebook was up and running in less than an hour. The data files were transferred from my old T400 to my new T450. Could not have been easier.

My friend doing aerospace got an old ThinkPad T450 and didn't even switch the battery out and it's been working great for him. Granted, he uses PopOS (Linux) so there's more headroom for him rather than using Windows, but it's still going to be an overall better performer than a similarly priced new laptop that might end up having a spinning drive or EMMC storage that'll tank performance like an anchor.

I've had the computer a week and all is working well. The touch pad could be better a bit more sensitive but still a good, decent laptop for the under $300.00 money.
