Great little computer, a hard working refurbished business laptop that does exactly what I need

Bought this as a secondary / backup laptop for my mobile DJ gigs. It's great as small, lightweight laptop that is plenty fast & very solid for my use of the Virtual DJ Pro user. It's not the cool looking or newest bells n' whistles having laptop. It just a plain & simple workhorse that always gets the job done

Battery Life

All it needed was a totally new keyboard and faster processors

2GHz to get something done and then ramp it back down to 1.1GHz to preserve heat and battery life. This is a pretty normal strategy now.

A so-so refurbished laptop

The replacement battery is a 6-cell, which will give you decent battery life, but it is heavy and bulky compared to the original. Ultimately, I knew this was going to be a cheapish deal when I bought it - but it will serve the purpose I bought it for. I purchased a second battery (the original size) and the correct power adapter separately. So maybe it isn't such a great deal with that added cost

Performance

Verdict – The Core i3 is the better choice for everyday tasks

There are also noticeable advantages in terms of the emissions, and especially the fan is much quieter with a slower maximum speed. This means the i3 MacBook Air is quieter for longer periods of time, even when you stress it.The MacBook Air with the dual-core i3 processor is the better device for basic workloads. The subjective performance impression is very good in these scenarios, the fan is quieter, and you can still enjoy the good display as well as the improved keyboard

You don't need to build a pc for school

My friend doing aerospace got an old ThinkPad T450 and didn't even switch the battery out and it's been working great for him. Granted, he uses PopOS (Linux) so there's more headroom for him rather than using Windows, but it's still going to be an overall better performer than a similarly priced new laptop that might end up having a spinning drive or EMMC storage that'll tank performance like an anchor.
