Its Ryzen 7 Pro CPU is a monster, delivering near-mobile-workstation levels of raw multithreaded performance, and its engineering is faultless.

She's only gonna be using it for coursework, programming and media (probably). First option: Lenovo Thinkpad T14 AMD (Ryzen 5 4650U, 8GB, 128GB SSD, 400-nit low power panel). Probably the better option here for a student/ normal user. I'm able to get this for about 917$.

Avoid privacy guard

Great laptop. Nice specs. Ordered a model with the "privacy filter" feature which can't actually be turned off and provides absolutely atrocious viewing angles. Returned it to Lenovo.
