IQAir HealthPro Plus

Again, this seems to be a well constructed, well-built air purifier that should last you for quite some time.

Now all this research brought me to the Swedish made IQAir HealthPro Plus. It uses a 30sqft Prefilter (18 months), a Granulated Activated Carbon filter (2 years), and a 54sqft H12/13 HyperHEPA (4 years). So in addition to these extremely long lasting and substantial filters it also has a 10 year warranty, a non-offgassing ABS housing, 330CFM capability, high reliability and customer satisfaction, independently certified HEPA 99.5% efficient to 0.003 microns (which they sent me the lab report of) and they’ve been producing this unit for over 2 decades now, so you will never have a problem finding parts or filters. The rating on this unit at max speed (330CFM) means it can do about 2 Air Changes per Hour (ACH) for about 1200sqft.

So I said screw it let me just buy a $900 IQ Air HealthPro Plus. First impression:. I don't mind the size. At first it gave off a slight plastic odor but after a day it now gives off a 'fresh' odor.

Romote is really bad. You have to be 1 foot from unit. So close I can touch controls by reaching. Cannot use remote beyond arm length. As for filtration unit does clear room reasonably fast. Use stove on high to burn off debris. Purposely did not turn on range vent. Used unit to clear the room

I bought it to use in my office where I like to smoke cigars. I can confirm it’s very effective at quickly getting rid of smoke and odor. It’s much more powerful than my old Okaysou Airmax8l. I was also getting tired of replacing filters so often in that air purifier.

The remote only works if your like 2 feet away from the machine. I like changing the setting from my nightstand in my bedroom but it won’t work unless I get super close. I tried changing the battery and put in a new one and it still doesn’t improve the range.

Levoit Vital 100, Winix C545) to something heavy duty like an IQAir GC Multigas or Austin Air Healthmate Plus if I care about effective VOC removal?. Yes, I would say so. Don't waste your money by getting the low-end consumer stuff. Those units have such a small amount of carbon that they're basically useless for smells.
