I had to pump a lot with my first baby as I was working and I disliked pumping a lot. Now, with my second, I’m home full time and pumping minimally. My baby is four weeks old. I would recommend a Haakaa or Elvie Curve and a manual pump to relieve engorgement.

1. Get a Haakaa. I bragged on them on a couple other comments, but it was gold to me during the time I needed it. It's a silicon bulb that suctions onto the boob you're not nursing with and catches the letdown.

It's super straightforward and very minimal and easy to use. I wish the cord was longer but other than that it's been great.

Because of the haakaa, I never had to pump before I went back to work and my husband could still give the occasional bottle. I also built up a good freezer store for when I did go back, and ultimately for when I weaned and was able to feed frozen milk for an entire month. All without pumping! Easy to clean, cheap, easy to store and carry, easy to use in the middle of night for some quick relief when weaning or dropping feeds...the list goes on.

I’ve also used the Haakaa when baby sleeps for a long stretch and I need to release the pressure. I get 4oz every time, and it’s so much easier than my electric pump. Nothing to set up, nothing to plug in, and only one part to wash when I’m done.
