Gigabyte AORUS FV43U

It definitely has speakers and they're pretty serviceable..

I wrote this a couple years ago, but after messing around with the wonky behavior of the Gigabyte FV43U monitor,I thought I'd share it with r/monitors. The wave pattern is nearly invisible on my LG 38GL950G-B when running at 60 hz. My old 30" HP office monitor (back when we worked in offices) was basically perfect. The FV43U is way, way, way off.

It's still a great gaming monitor, with a fast refresh rate, fantastic response time at the max refresh rate, and excellent low input lag. It has a few great gaming features, including support for FreeSync variable refresh rate technology, ensuring a nearly tear-free gaming experience. The large panel delivers a more immersive gaming experience than smaller monitors while taking up less space than a large TV

I woke up at 5:55 am this morning not too hopeful, starting refreshing links to 3060ti cards on newegg using my phone (didn't use the app, just browser) and miraculously was able to snag the Gigabyte Aorus one. Checked out through paypal and it's already given me a tracking number. I think since it's my birthday and I'm super pregnant, the newegg gods showed mercy!.

The best 4k 144Hz HDR monitor we've tested is the Gigabyte AORUS FV43U. It's a unique monitor because it has a large 43 inch screen while maintaining the standard 16:9 aspect ratio. However, it's very good for HDR content because it has a VA panel with a high native contrast ratio and remarkable black uniformity

The Gigabyte 43" VA of the "Gigabyte AORUS FV43U" ( 2021 ) also has the same problems. There is pretty much the same bad 43" BGR VA panel installed as always, no matter which 43" 4K VA monitor.

Despite its great HDR picture quality, it has a few gaming flaws, like its slow response time at 60Hz, and the input lag is higher than other monitors. If you want the best monitor for HDR, the LG delivers stunning picture quality, but if you're not a fan of OLEDs, then check out the Gigabyte.

For the most part I liked the monitor, but the 43inch size was honestly a bit big for my desk, especially since I also use a second monitor. There was also some discoloration in the corners of the screen so I decided to return it.

The Gigabyte AORUS FV43U is the best 4k HDR gaming monitor with an LED backlight that we've tested. It delivers a very good HDR experience, with an excellent contrast ratio and impressive peak brightness in HDR, so bright highlights stand out.

But…1000:1 with HDR400 and no legit Gsync? It’s still a bit disappointing. The FV43U on the other hand is a knockout and possibly “the one” right now, with it’s 4K VA 4000:1 and HDR1000.
