After some fiddling, the image came together nicely. Black levels- the epson is purpose built with 3 lcd and auto iris to achieve great blacks, so the two viewsonic DLPs don't hold a candle to the epson. The pjd7820hd and px748-4k have similar black levels, which is to say, not good. This is a commonly know limitation of DLP projectors.
