 However, the Epson 2250 is rather special in 3 ways:  1) is has a useful throw ratio with lots of zoom and vertical lens shift. I find that the BenQ projectors always want to get onto the couch with you. This one instead wants to sit behind your head. It’s not as convenient as a short throw if you plan to move it daily

 3) looks. While it is compact, it is not as sleek as the “E” series like the EF11 for example.  In sum: a great 1080p projector that is actually smart enough to work on its own without external sticks and boxes, connects to WiFi and Bluetooth and that is small enough not to offend in your living room.

 But I think that even apologists for Google will find it hard to applaud the particular stick that comes with this projector. The App Store selection is poor. Most apps regularly malfunction. And the stick (assuming it's the stick's fault) cannot even handle a bluetooth connection properly

 Both options result in consistent, considerable lag, regardless of the app being used, regardless of the speaker being used for output. Unusable bluetooth means that either you are happy to live with the built-in speaker (if you can hear it behind the fan, which is loud), or you have to connect an external audio jack to your speakers, or you have to use an external Roku/Fire stick or Apple TV. The problem is that all those options defeat the point of having a smart projector. You have to remove the (rather pretty) back cover and you're left with cables/sticks poking out -- which is not great if you want to have the projector itself be permanently installed somewhere where it is visibile

Updated: Good compact projector with UN-usable smarts

 (I say lower budget because this thing is still incredible expensive, but it is so worth it if you can't afford one of those $6000 cinema projectors). Get your own sound system, the built-in speakers are okay and unusable at low volume. The features are kickass but as with all technology, there are some flaws, like Wifi connectivity issues, occasional latency issues, slow start-up, and the Hulu app being unusable, but it more for makes up for it with the amount of features it has and the quality of the picture. The zoom feature is the best thing ever

I have to try again and again for 10 minutes, sometimes it connects, other times I have to turn it off, wait for it turn back on, then deal with it not connecting another 1-3 times. This projector is incredible

I spent so many hours trying to find a Bluetooth speaker that works with this. Like what the heck is SCMS-T anyways and why won’t this speaker work with Bose soundboard or UE Boom speakers? So frustrating! And the support is horrible. They won’t even give you a list of compatible speakers.

The only reason for this review is to stress the gigantic design flaw here. There's no digital audio output and there's no audio return channel (ARC) on the HDMI port. If you want to use this projector for your home cinema you must connect an audio video source to your receiver. Making the fantastic integrated Android TV completely useless, unless you want to hear your movies from the crappy integrated speaker

 Ok, I just stayed close to the projector, and I lived with it. After a year, the speaker just broke down, no sound coming out of it at all. Can anyone let me know how do I find the support if there is.

 My room does have some light leak as it is a loft with windows (do have room darkening blinds tho), and we can easily see the image during the day. Night time viewing is obviously better, but this one does pretty well with some light leak. Lens shift. This one is HUGE

I was able to center the projector and the screen with just a little effort, so I did not need to use any digital image manipulation (keystone, etc) to get a good image. I did use the zoom and vertical lens shift to span the 120" screen and lower the image since my projector is mounted 6" from the ceiling, as is my screen

Excellent first projector!

 Warranty and support is two years parts and labor with a great two year rapid replacement program if you have a warranty issue. A lot of the competition comes with a single year warranty and no replacement program. Too bad. Brightness is a key strength for both 2D and 3D viewing

All in all, that means large screens are fine for 2D and even 3D looks fine at 124 inches diagonal, although like your local Cineplex it could still be a little brighter. That's all the time for this shorter video. Bottom line, the just over $2,500 price translates into a great value as it buys you a projector with lots of lumens for theaters or for other films

 But the glasses for this model are lighter and the 3D quality is just great. I'd so rather wait out the Blu Ray than go out to a theater. In fact, I paid $47 for two tickets for the latest Jurassic World movie and I know the Blu Ray will have 9 hours of extra footage, 3 discs and I get to keep it, for probably half that price. And no one will be checking their texts around me or kicking my chair! BTW, my set up is for a 140" screen

 Very little crosstalk if at all in some features. I was a little disappointment that the glasses from the 3010 do not work with this as I purchased several extra. But the glasses for this model are lighter and the 3D quality is just great. I'd so rather wait out the Blu Ray than go out to a theater

Fantastic Upgrade From the 3010 - 3D Quality Has Greatly Improved

 I was blown away by my 8350. It was as crisp as my old (early 2000's) 32" Vizio 1080p TV, yet it threw a picture that covered my entire wall.  When I first got my 5030UB, I didnt have that same blown away effect. It had the same resolution after all
