If you’ve ground enough coffee to not be upset about this, then it’s time for some steel burrs.

1Zpresso, Timemore, or C40 would be my recommendations. I’ve got a 1ZPresso and two friends have a Timemore slim and C40, all are top notch.

C40 is a premium and a good looking grinder. However, I much prefer the K plus over the C40 because of how user friendly the K plus is.

I had a C40 for a year and I just wasn't quite as impressed with it, especially for the price. So I sold it and bought a 1z JX Pro and am happy that I did. Other stuff that used to collect dust on my shelf where a 8cup Chemex, a Hario switch and a clever dripper. I just wanted to try most manual processes that are out there but honestly my kalita/V60 for home and the Aeropress for travel is more then enough.

What I will say, is that I upgraded to a comandante c40 at the start of the year and have been so so so happy. It’s an amazing grinder, it’s very reliable, it’s very pretty, it’s very sturdy too and I really like weighing out and grinding my coffee everyday with it. You could say all those things about any grinder though, within reason.

I know this is kind of the stock answer, but I've never regretted getting my Comandante C40

I really like mine, the handle fits nicely in the band to go around my regular AeroPress, the coffee it produces is nice, and the rubber band around the grinder is really grippy. It fits my hand really nicely too, I had a Comandante C40 and I actually prefer the Aergrind.

The best hand grinders available currently are not made in the US. Orphan Espresso comes the closest as they are headquartered in Idaho, where they stock, ship, and support. But they manufacture overseas and I believe their burrs are either German or Swiss. The Comandante C40 is a German made hand grinder with a very good reputation for filter and press brewing, which is stocked and sold by a handful of retailers in the US.

Microwave whistling kettle - fast and easy. 1zpresso JX-Pro grinder - because I didn't feel like being price-gouged on a C40. This still cost three times more than the total of everything else listed here.

I have a C40 and a friend has the Jx pro. The C40 has more even grind distribution (from grind size particle distribution app and it’s pretty easy to tell visually) and that shows up in the cup. Cups are cleaner across the board and generally sweeter.
