While I love my automatic Seiko Divers, having owned a 1993 Mazda RX7, 1992 Nissan 240SX and 1995 Mitsubishi GSX Eclipse I get familiar vibes with these watches and they do get a lot of wrist time. The Citizen Nighthawk (JDM/Euro) was the first of these 3 I bought. I searched for the JDM model with the engraved case back and slightly different dial (smaller lume plots and larger polish indices) because it was a touch more unique. I normally wear it on a black rubber strap but the bracelet is really comfortable.

I've had this Citizen Promaster Nighthawk for a little over a year, and it's my favourite watch and daily driver. My parents got me a new strap for Christmas since this one had a decent amount of wear during the year. It feels great to have the watch feel new again and the strap has a few different details than the original one, which give the watch a slightly different vibe. The watch itself is in pretty good condition and I use the GMT hand a lot, as well as the date function, which makes it pretty practical.

Citizen Nighthawk. Was my first real watch and still have it and wear it regularly despite having much more expensive pieces. Great bracelet, gmt, solar charging, reliable movement. Cannot go wrong.

Main hour and minute hands appear a bit oversized at times relative to available space. Bracelet feels light and cheap, also had a dull brushes finish...overall it's just ok, a bit overhyped.

I’ll keep my Tudor BB 36 for certain occasions and my Citizen Promaster Nighthawk for the 172 cockpit. The only other watch I want is a recently serviced 14060 two-liner, but it just isn’t worth the expense to me right now. Anyway, if anyone is considering one of these and is currently on the fence, do it. The hesalite is amazing (never had an issue with scratches) and the overall design just works so well with everything.
