It still is a really good camera, but it just lacks some features that I want to use in this year.

And at the end of the day, I think this camera is amazing for the money.

It’s runs a long time, can take a beating due to the body, built-in ND filters, XLR ports for audio, decent in low-light (access to fast and inexpensive EF glass like Ronikons or other EF glass), cheap media, decent codec at 8-bit (decent for short films and corporate events if you want to make some cash).

I just bought a Canon C100 Mark ii for around $1300. XLRs, Internal NDs, waveform, peaking, good audio, good autofocus. Great battery life. I got no complaints. Shoots an excellent 1080 image.

Check out the Canon EOS C100 Mark ii… it’s right in your price range and a fantastic cinema camera for the price. It is larger than the mirrorless cameras you listed but features all the pro features that come with a dedicated video camera.

I just bought a c100 mark ii on eBay a few months ago. I’m still developing my business, but it is so nice having an actual video camera compared to the dslrs I had been using.

Again, based off what you said, it sounds like to me that you need a “do everything” workhorse. It sounds kinda strange, but I really think you should look into getting something like a well cared for, used C100 Mark II. They are small, you get XLR with phantom power, built in NDs (which you will definitely need), and loads of control from easily accessible buttons. Plus, they are incredibly reliable, the batteries last forever, and you won’t have to stress about carrying a bunch of recording media.

I’ve been using a Canon 6d and t3i, recently bought a c100 mark ii and I love it. I bought it on eBay in good condition for ~$1800. The image is great, built in ND filters are an eye opener, and the battery life and file sizes perfect for the work I do.
