Use only 1/2 cup of batter per waffle, as recommended in the basic recipe, and pour it a little toward the front of the machine to prevent the batter from flowing out the back when you close the machine. This machine is about as difficult to clean as other waffle irons -- the plates aren't removable, and you'll have to use ear swabs to get into the grooves. Minor nuisance for such good waffles, though.

Like most small waffle makers, it takes some experimentation to figure out how much batter to pour (it will overflow messily if you pour too much) and which temperature setting works best for your recipe and preferences (I currently have it one step below highest). And it does help to periodically hit the grids with some cooking spray to keep waffles from sticking. The maker says they've weighted the lid to help expanding batter flow into all areas of the grid. I say more weight would help

It still works to make waffles, but the base and handle is plastic and I wonder if it's going to break too. Good news: I called Cuisinart and with proof of purchase there was no problem for them to send me a new replacement. Hope the new one doesn’t break.

The initial odor from the non-stick surface seems less than with others I have tried, though it is still there. I have found I use the maximum browning setting, but I am also using a gluten free mix. Not sure if the gf makes a difference; may just be that I prefer a crispier waffle. Breville is kind of like the Ferrari of kitchen appliances; they are stylish and perform well

The nonstick coating is good and I usually only had to spray it with oil once for the first waffle and nothing would stick to it. However, here are the reasons I am giving it 1 star: 1) The done light is insanely inaccurate, particularly on the high settings. I usually had to wait an extra minute after it turned green before the waffle was really browned. 2) The lip around the edge of the waffle shape on the iron is too shallow allowing lots of batter to leak out instead of pushing the lid up which brings me to the next item

However, it is simply not a match for the All-clad. I want a louder beep and a waffle that is easier to get out of the machine. I wanted to love this but I’m afraid that I do not.

For 20 years I used a Farberware 800 waffle iron that performed flawlessly and made excellent waffles until it finally failed. The Cuisinart waffle iron reflects a disturbing trend to squeeze the last cent of profit out of consumers by cheapening the design of an appliance until it barely functions. This iron has been made so light and thin that it lacks the metal needed to maintain even temperature. As a result, waffles come out with a dark, crispy ring where the heating iron is located, while the rest of the waffle is light brown

Then pour in your waffle batter (I found that 1/3 cup of the batter I use is perfect). Close the top and wait. Once the ready light comes on and the tone goes off you are ready to remove a perfectly cooked waffle then add more batter and repeat. Incredibly simple

what the industry calls "traditional" waffles. It was a challenging finding a machine that didn't make those overwrought Belgian waffles! I find this machine very easy to use. You heat it up, pour in the batter, and it times the correct color waffle for you. It comes with directions and recipes and literally takes about 10 minutes from batter mixing to waffle eating

Favorite feature is that it tells you when the waffle is done - the ready light goes on and the device beeps (presumably temperature derived). So much better than a different waffle maker I had tried before that simply had a timer that had no sensitivity to the necessary cooking time. Easy to clean, very straightforward to use. I love my stack of waffles - going into the freezer for easy keto breakfasts and snacks!!!

Made the first waffle, followed instructions, waited for the indicator to turn green, it was perfectly formed, did bit stick. Gave it to my husband to do a taste test and he said it tasted fine, the smell did not transfer over to the waffles. So I made the first batch and we ate them, it was so good! And so easy！I tried putting a little oil on the grills as well and it worked too so you can do that if you are afraid of the waffles sticking. But otherwise it doesn't burn as long as you follow the indicator light - pour in the batter when it is green, it'll turn red and take it off only when it turns green again

I have used this waffle maker for a couple weeks and while I like it, I honestly don’t think it’s worth the money. We had a $25 one we’ve used for several years (at least once a week) that kicked he bucket, and after a lot of research I decided on this one. I figured since we cooked waffles a lot I’d “splurge.” However, the first waffle is always too done, even if done on the lowest setting

Perhaps they could have designed that interface better, but hey - it works, I understand now why it feels loose, but it's just fine, and so I no longer care about that feature. I reassembled the unit and made breakfast. Yum! I recommend this iron, ESPECIALLY for the price! a definite bargain, in my opinion.
