Love the idea, has stability issues
I'll preface this by stating that I'm a linux user - first thing I did when I got this was install two NVME SDDs and install linux onto them, leaving the original NVME drive intact and unused for warranty purposes. That said, I'll start with the good: * Solid gaming performance - performs as I'd exp...

Currently a top 3 option for 17" gaming laptops
I've had this laptop for a month now and man it is extremely well built! First it does come with a 2tb hard drive not 1 like listed. The laptop feels like an elitebook, tough metal build not flimsy plastic feeling. elevated keyboard is very useful and does allow the laptop to cool even when on bad s...

Returning Zephyrus S17 (QHD 3080)
I was lucky enough to get the S17 when they went on sale briefly at Newegg on July 6th. After using it for about 10 days, I’ve made the tough decision to return it for a refund. The backlight bleeding and IPS glow is just too much for a laptop this expensive.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 14" Gaming Laptop AMD Ryzen 9 16GB Memory NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q 1TB SSD Moonlight White GA401IV-BR9N6 - Best Buy
Verdict - Good gaming laptop with uncertain future
If we evaluate pure gaming performance, the ROG Zephyrus leaves nothing to be desired. Both the raw CPU and GPU performance are unchallenged. The 140-watt GPU is even on par with the 155-watt GPU in the MSI GE76 Raider 10UH

I'm a travel nurse looking at getting into PC gaming and a laptop seems like the best combination of power and portability for me right now (I also need to replace my current macbook pro). I've gotten some suggestions and looked at a lot of youtube reviews and it seems like the ROG Zephyrus is a good way to go.

Asus Zephyrus S17 3080 or Legion 7 3080 I feel like it’s so hard to choose at this point to but I mainly only like the Legion 7 for the screen and IO I’ll mostly be using the laptop for gaming what would be the best choice
Also ASUS support claims the QHD panel is 500 nits. Newegg & other site have it listed as 300 nits. Body style is relative, but I prefer the S17. Overall I think it's the better machine.

Alienware Doesn’t Want You to Buy an AMD Ryzen PC
It's a good idea to wait because Ryzen 5000 mobile devices are starting to come out. The Asus Zephyrus has been getting accolades for it's design and performance, but if you're looking for thin-and-light or ultrabooks, the Zenbook (also Asus) is well regarded too. There are a slew of models out there. Lenovo usually has some good ones too but they lag a bit behind other OEMs in their offerings.
