100% yes. If you just want fast internet throughout the house with "set and forget" then its perfect. (All other wifi6 mesh systems i mention above did a great job as well, id happily recommend them all - The alien in particular was badass).

If you’re looking for something easier to setup out of the box and maintain with more simple controls, I would recommend either a Ubiquiti AmpliFi Alien, Netgear Orbi, or Eero Pro mesh system. They should all be very easy to setup, maintain, and most importantly, expand by adding additional mesh nodes as needed. Ubiquiti is the closest I’ve found to Apple (it was founded by an ex Apple employee) in terms of quality of hardware and user experience; however, the customer support is nothing like Apple’s, and they are semi-notorious for rolling out buggy software on occasion, so it’s generally recommended to hold off on performing software updates until you’ve been able to vet them through others’ experiences online. I have used both an AmpliFi mesh system in my and my parents’ house as well as a UDM at home for years and they have all been awesome.

I bought this unit after enjoying what I got from my Amplifi HD system. The HD system works well but when I saw the Alien and some of the reviews I decided I wanted an upgrade. If you are unlikely to grow your network much more than this, the AmpliFi might be nice and a bit more all-in-one consumer focused in firmware. *I'd hope someone else on here could comment on the firmware quality/stability of the Amplifi Alien for you! * The Dream machine software is pretty good, but honestly not that impressive when compared against other modern routers on the market. Purchased a single unit from the manufacturer and engage with their tech support all the way through its service in our three story residence. The signal strength was sufficient for a Mac Mini one floor down and various devices one floor up, so I never needed the mesh capability. What I didn't need ...

If you don’t want to mess with the “pro-sumer” stuff, I would look at either the Netgear Orbi or the AmpliFi Alien and use an Ethernet backbone between the additional nodes. If your house doesn’t already have Ethernet cables, I would highly recommend looking into either MoCA or installing some Ethernet cables either by yourself (it’s surprisingly not too difficult) or hiring a professional.
