Dell Alienware AW3821DW
The Dell Alienware AW3821DW is a good overall monitor. It's Dell's only 38 inch option in their Alienware lineup, and it has a high 3840x1600 resolution to deliver an immersive gaming experience. It has native G-SYNC support and a 144Hz refresh rate. Despite the lack of a Black Frame Inser...

No amount of fiddling with the SDR content brightness was enough (contraty to my Alienware, where I could find a pretty good middle ground for the desktop to not look like complete ass). \- Local Dimming @ Auto, regardless of what the monitor's OSD says, also applies some degree of local dimming to SDR content, but not much. Forcing it to low or high really hides much of the blooming, but with the same side effect as the previously mentioned HDR issue.
The bigger the monitor, the smaller the keyboard
Went from three Dell S2716DGs to one in portrait and an Alienware AW3821DW. Driving it with a 3090 is getting me around 125 fps in The Division 2 at Ultra and around 60 fps in Arma 3 with draw distance maxed. Works way better then Nvidia Surround did previously.
Great for all around use.
It’s good. I don’t have much to compare it to but I have little to complain about. G sync works well, brightness and colors seem good, I honestly can’t tell the difference between hdr and non hdr but maybe I’ve never seen a good hdr display show what it can do. My only complaint is the screen is so ...

LG 38GN950-B vs AW AW3821DW
AW3821DW is simply the best 38" model, LG 38GL950G has true G-sync but with only HDR400 and loud fan, LG 38GN950G has HDR600 with local dimming but doesn't have real G-sync, while AW3821DW combines the advantages of the two since it has both HDR600 and true G-sync with much quieter fan, inaudible according to reports. Then you also have other Dell related advantages like way superior warranty and QC.
What is the best 38inch monitor at the moment between $1000-$1200
My vote goes to alienware aw3821dw. Good build quality and a 3yr warranty
Will 750w PSU be sufficient to power 3090 + 5900x ?
My 1200W-rated lead battery UPS displays that I am only at roughly 55% to 60% of maximum output while playing Red Dead Redemption 2, and this is also with a Synology NAS and an Alienware AW3821DW monitor attached to the same UPS. The 5900X (peak 116W during multi-threaded AVX) draws slightly more power than the 5800X (peak 112W during multi-threaded AVX), however the difference won't be that significant, especially if you're running fewer disk drives than me.

A high-quality alternative to the Amazon Basics Monitor Arm... The Dell MSA20
Currently, I am using my AW3821DW, and there are no problems whatsoever. The cable management is really clean, and it can hold a ton of cables without having covers pop off. Lastly, it has an adapter for VESA compatibility, and it has the default connector for Dell Ultrawides.
So I have an AW3821DW for PC which I love. Performs well and fits my desk perfectly. However, I'm in the market for a new TV. Was thinking of about getting a 55" or 65" LG C1 OLED for watching TV, movies, and most importantly, my PS5.
Broken between the LG 38GN950 and the LG CX48. Need help.
- Pixel density is about the same as a 1080p monitor, and at a close distance you can tell that its not as sharp as say a 1440p monitor can be. (LG CX48 has a PPI of 92, AW3821DW/LG38GN950 have a PPI of 111 for reference). - The screen is very glossy reflective. This means if you have windows behind you, lights or even a backlit keyboard/RGB mouse they will be reflected in the screen and can be an annoying distraction.
