It has multiple filtering stages (and one of the filters is washable multiple times before it needs to be replaced) and has a large air throughput while also being very quiet (these are generally the characteristics to look for in a purifier). This is the nicest air purifier ever!!!! Runs quiet and automatically adjusts depending on how hard it needs to work. Very easy to clean with removable filters. Yes filters!!! 3 of them!!! I can see, and tried to get a picture of, the dust it's pulling into the grille. My husband and I also vape, typically with windows cracked for airflow, and this is the clearest I've seen my apartment. It sucks everything up and I can tell the difference in my air quality. We also run a dehumidifier since this apartment is so humid, and the two together are making a huge difference in my allergies already
