 First the not so good things, the rims construction and materials used feel tacky and it's not really that good in the hands, it doesn't feel right it just feels like the rubber is trying to stick to your hands and you know the top and bottom of the steering wheel feels very weird. The force feedback lacks some finesse that is present in the G29 and 923 and in terms of wheels rotation the gearing is a bit on the tougher side. I didn't have any problems with it breaking in GT Sport for example. Of course some habit will be required

 And what we have here today is the pro flavor of the T-150. This particular unit was provided by Trustmaster and Overtech.gg for this review and also for an upcoming comparison video between the T-150 and the G923 that you'll see at Overtech.gg

 So now we're going to get onto the cons and the first one is it's got a small rim. I would have liked to have seen a little bit bigger rim but maybe since the mechanism isn't as strong say as the T300 or the TX, maybe that's why they went with the smaller rim. I would have liked to have seen a bigger rim. And the next con, you're not able to hard mount the wheel

 The pedals can be hard mounted and it has plenty of buttons with good placement. And the final two pros, it's got solid click on the paddle shifters and the ability to change the degrees of rotation on the fly. So now we're going to get onto the cons and the first one is it's got a small rim.  And you can really get in tight close quarters with these artificial intelligent cars the AI cars and they do a pretty good chop too of course I have it in learning mode now and they haven't really learned yet because you can see how easily em it's learning past them. But yeah, no complaints here. the wheels doing a great job, all the buttons work, you can amana sign them in no problem. So yeah, overall having a great time driving this wheel

 I Like the Ferrari 488 Challenge replica wheel, it really is a good representation of the actual wheel used in a real F 488 car. I Think it has a good feel to it right out of the box. The Alcantara makes for a nice smooth grip. I even passed when wearing my gloves when driving to be able to feel the smoothness of this material

 I Think third semester has done a good job with this wheel. the usual injected molded plastic on the back for the housing of the electronics and of course we have the usual threaded hub here with the big fat threads on it that of course we're going to be using to mount to the wheel base and you can see the plug in there that it will actually for the electronics now. Also, there is an echo Terra finish on this and it's a very nice finish actually. I Was actually using this wheel without gloves and it felt pretty good and it's done a good job

 The Alcantara makes for a nice smooth grip. I even passed when wearing my gloves when driving to be able to feel the smoothness of this material. Of course if I use it every day I would have my glow. The LEDs seem to be of good quality

Thrustmaster TS-PC Ferrari 488  Challenge Edition Review

I have recently upgraded but ran used Thrustmaster gear (T-500 then TS-PC) for years with no issues, they are a fair step above the logitech equivalent so if you can get a TM base plus load cell pedals that would be my recommendation. Also check out forums for used gear, this hobby has people upgrading all the time so there are sometimes bargains to be had.

Okay so I’m got a bit of choice paralysis over the past few days. Tons of research and all that. I’ve come down to a few choices, I’ll go cheapest to most expensive.
 
$190 - The Bare Minimum
- T150 RS
- T3PA Pedals
- Could add a Newt Black Shifter, but overkill for this setup
 
$328 - The Clunky Classic
- G29 + Brake Mod
- Newt Black Shifter
 
$468 - The Middle Child
- TX Base
- 30cm Alcantara Rim
- T3PA Pedals
- Note: No shifter, kinda weird
 
$695+ - The Money Muncher / The Dream Starter
- TX Base
- Sparco R383 Wheel (or the Alcantara either way)
- T-LCM Pedals
- Newt Black Shifter
- Possible Rig and Handbrake if we’re talking truly a dream starter
 
Now some of these are a little heavy on the pocket. The $300-$400 range is semi comfortable, especially closer to $300. 
 
My main questions are regarding T300 reliability and build quality/feel, G29 clunkiness and the dead zone, T3PA Pedal quality (comparatively to the G29 with brake mod), and if the wheel/rim upgrades are worth it (and which is better)
 
Main things i’m hoping for are a smooth wheel with good FFB and a nice feel to it (in terms of leather vs plastic vs suede), and pedals that aren’t squishy or too hard.
 
Also you’re opinion on the newt black would be great cause I’ve only heard good things!

Help me choose a first setup (Basically another G29 vs T300 post sorry)

 The buttons, joysticks, and dails are cool looking, but they feel cheap, are kind of hard to use while driving. I'm worried about how long they will last. I would be shocked if the wheel makes it through 100k miles of sim racecar driving without something breaking on this rim. Also the metal edges are kind of sharp

 The force feedback on this wheel is much more powerful than I expected it to be. I'm a pretty big guy and I couldn't keep the wheel still when surprised with a strong jolt. It isn't stronger than me, but it's strong enough for me to feel what's happening with my wheels. I'm looking into getting a cockpit frame now because this thing is going to tear my Ikea desk apart

Edit Jul 27: The lack of game compatibility with the LED's, the awkwardness of the oversize wheel and being told to buy third party software to make it function led to the return of this wheel and purchase of the TS-XW. The extra $360 for the rim with it's numerous issues could not be justified in any way. But my original review is as follows:  I replaced my dead T300 with this as I wanted a bit more power and the Ferrari wheel looked cool. The 15 built in LEDs were a nice touch but there are a LOT of problems with them

  I will tell you this: If you have Thrustmaster rims you like? Just by the TSXW. I don't see how this is worth the price when one of its main features, by their own admission; doesn't work properly.  Pass. Hard pass

Welcome to our review of the Thrustmaster TS Pc Racer, the new flagship wheel for the Pc only and Darren did a first not a review look of the wheel back a few weeks ago and quite frankly hit on a lot of topics that I'm talking about today, so think of this as a second opinion and also will sprinkle in a few other topics that weren't covered there, but you guys had questions for in the comment section. So with that said, let's go ahead and look at some numbers and fancy acronyms used with the TS PC Racer. The Thrustmaster TS Pc Racer has many new features including a new 40 watt brushless motor, a new cooling system called Motor Cooling Embedded or MC E that will prevent the motor from losing power due to high temperatures. This new cooling allows for the motor to have 50 percent more dynamic response and four times greater stall force

 Plus I Don't know if it's really that much more price-wise So over 500 hours to get a wheel and then you need pedals and between $100 and $200 you have a few pretty nice selections. You go with the Thrustmaster t, EPA's the thrust minus 43 PA Pros: or you go to the phonetics ESL Elites which I'm using and I think quite a lot of. So let's say you go with the fanatics and that puts you at $700 at $700 That's $300 more than say the T 300 GT Edition And even though $300 more isn't cheap, I Do think you're getting $300 more worth of performance there. or if you look at like the Alcantara edition of T 300, this is only two hundred and thirty dollars more

Or however you say that, I mean essentially it's shaped like a tire or doughnut. So now that we know the thoughts of the Thrustmaster PR team, let's get to our own thoughts aesthetically: I Think there are more pros here than cons. I'm kind of torn on the shape of the wheelbase
