Logitech G29

I'd guess I've dropped 20% of my lessons since I've "trained" at home playing video games. A steering Wheel like mine (Logitech G29 with Pedals and Shifter Module) can cost ~300 $ but in my case it was worth it.

The go-to are the Logitech G29 and Thrustmaster T300. The benefit of the Logitech is that it's relatively cheap but does the job, while the T300 is more expensive but is also straight up a better wheel. The main difference between the two is the way they provide the force feedback. The Logitech uses a gear-driven FFB which is functional but is also a bit clunky at times.

Overall, this isn't a bad force feedback wheel. Loaded with buttons, it has paddle shifters, rev lights. But it has two major flaws that I feel like should not be the case once you spend over $100. Look for Logitech G29/G920 or smimilar, maybe even G27 or Thrustmaster T150 in your local area.

I'd rather take a halfway decent wheel used than a cheap new one.

I can speak from experience on a G29 as it's what I drive, it's a perfect beginner wheel. Tons of buttons for mapping controls, some people complain about the paddle shifters feeling flimsy, mine feel fine to me. It's a bit noisy, you'll almost certainly run into the Logitech squeak. The pedals honestly are nothing spectacular especially compared to Fanatec v3's or something even more high end, but they do an adequate job for an entry level setup.

The only beef I have is that clamps are not strong enough for a desk. Use the holes under the wheel console and use 6M screws to bolt done on your desk. That is the right way. I have a Logitech G29 set and though I know this is entry level kit, I also know I won't me wanting more torque. I have an easily irritated nerve in my left arm which means I tend to run the G29 at about 80-85% strength - any more and I can't race for long without pain, but run at that level and all is good for several hours. I'd like something smoother.

I was expecting something to replace the handheld controller. This is not it. If you like the feel of the wheel whipping out of your hand when you hit the wall, here you go. Hum from the feedback motors is quite loud, as is the gear train. It does not spin smoothly.
