 But still a great flashlight. Now one of the reasons I switched to the Streamlight HLX was because I could not use the Streamlight rechargeable batteries in these lights. These only accept CR123A batteries, which was unfortunate. I was really hoping to continue to use this, but the Streamlight is brighter, it's more efficient, it has a couple more other features in it, and it allows me to use the rechargeable batteries

 You know, they don't come with as many functions as the Streamlights. They're maybe not as bright. Like I said, these are 600 lumens and the Streamlight is 1,000. But if I had to choose a light just to take camping or something, or I know it's going to be real, real rough, I'm taking the Surefire

 Hey there guys, welcome back to the channel and another video.

 So today we're going to be talking about the Surefire G2X series of flashlights.

 So here I have one of their standard models, and here's the LE model.

 But let's start off with the standard here.

 So this particular one I carried for about 6 years as a police officer.

 It was a fantastic light, it's served me well, it's nearly indestructible, and it's fairly

 It does use the CR123A batteries, and it usually runs for about $60 for just this standard

 The whole series are about 600 lumens with a couple of variations, and some of them have

 dual beams, so you have like a 600 lumen high setting, and then like a 320 low lumen setting.

 But this one is just a one setting flashlight.

 Another interesting feature is it does not have a click on or off, it has a momentary

 only button, and if you want it turned on, you gotta twist it.

 I kinda like that because my flashlight, even if it was accidentally bumped, it would only

 stay on for a moment, and if I threw it in a bag, it wouldn't just run the batteries

 Unless it stayed compressed, you know, but it takes quite a bit of force to actually

 But awesome, awesome flashlight, and it's served me very, very well.

 Now one of the reasons I chose this is because Surefire is just bomb proof.

 I have the Surefire X300U on my pistol that I carry for work.

 It's been a phenomenal, phenomenal flashlight, and this was a great, you know, belt companion,

 It's very compatible in size, or comparable in size, I should say, to the Streamlight

 So it's just actually slightly longer, but it's definitely good.

 But this one definitely has more features, and if you want to know more about that, you

 can go ahead and check out the video I did on this flashlight.

 But this one served me very well for a very long time.

 Now the LE model is a little bit different, and did not come with this finger loop and

 It comes with a pocket clip, and then a finger loop so you don't lose it.

 And this one's also just a one-function light.

 Now the batteries are a little low in this one, because, like I said, the button got

 depressed and they got left on for a while.

 Now one of the reasons I switched to the Streamlight HLX was because I could not use the Streamlight

 These only accept CR123A batteries, which was unfortunate.

 I was really hoping to continue to use this, but the Streamlight is brighter, it's more

 efficient, it has a couple more other features in it, and it allows me to use the rechargeable

 The one thing the Streamlight will not allow me to do is use this fantastic belt mount

 I mean, this thing will not let go of your light.

 I've been in a couple tumbles, I've been in a couple fights.

 It's also just that really cool little sound.

 I mean, I know if you're trying to be stealthy, but I actually always thought that was funny.

 It protects the button at the bottom, doesn't allow it to turn on, even if you're like putting

 It's completely solid, stays on the belt, no problem.

 Glass reinforced nylon, it's got that spring steel holder on the inside that puts a little

 bit of tension on the light and just keeps it right there for you.

 Now I cannot use that one for this light because I have the finger loop right there, but you

 actually can mount it on the top and it will hold it like this.

 So even if you're just putting down the light real quick, you can put it in like that or

 These lights run, like I said, about $60.

 The LE model usually runs about $65, probably because it just has that push button and a

 And then the belt mount here, I can't remember how much this is by itself, but a package

 deal for a single output G2X with the V70 speed holster and a couple extra batteries

 and all that stuff is usually about $100.

 But these lights, if you're looking for a very simple, very rugged, you know, bomb-proof

 light basically, these are hard to pass up.
