I'll keep it short and sweet 
I had a pixel from first generation. Now i have pixel 5.
Every time i switch to something else (samsung, ios, oxygen) i go back to pixel and i get reminded how simple and easy is to use.

To be honest I am happiest when i use Pixel.

Pixel one. If only Google could deliver on a hardware. That would be a dream phone.
But because Google is strongly behind in terms of hardware, I keep looking to iPhone. Sometimes Samsung, but man, I cant stand that One UI ot whatever they have.

All thing considered, I prefer the software of other Android phones slightly more than Pixels.

Despite having monthly updates and guaranteed OS updates, Pixels don't really feel more stable and bug-free than the others that I have used. In fact, there are times when I just felt my Pixel was simply buggier than my older phones. 

Also, the Pixel's software is simple and relative unbloated, but that also means it lacks a lot of quality of life features that other phones have had by default for years.

And Google tries to do a lot of stuff with software and machine learning, but a lot of times it feels like they're held back by the mediocre hardware l. The battery and memory optimizations, for example, can only do so much if you have a small battery and only 4GB of ram. Not significant at all. 

And finally, a lot of neat and exciting features that Pixels have are limited by region and/or language, usually US only, so not even worth commenting.

Last had a moto x pure, and from what I remember it wasn't too bad for bloat or anything, just those moto gestures which were neat at the time. But looking back on them they were really whatever. Stock android is the big reason I haven't switched to a different phone from my 3xl yet. I would have gotten the Pixel 5, but I'm waiting for an xl version.

But I did really enjoy Windows Phone UI back in the day.

Pixel. Pure Android is perfect for me. I also like Motorola because they only add a couple handy things on top of basic Android.

The only thing I don't appreciate is not being able to say "Shoot" to take a selfie.  Other than that, the Pixel is just as good as my old Samsung.

I'm using a S21 right now. The T-Mobile promo to get one for free with trading in my 4XL tempted me. Also got 1/2 off any Samsung buds so I got their new Galaxy Buds Pro, and I got $100 of Samsung accessories and a free Galaxy Smart Tag.

I sold all the accessories I ordered and smart tag, I didn't like the first party leather case that much, I thought it would be like my Rugged Leather one Nomad I had on my Pixel 4XL and it was not nearly the quality... I also ordered a Duo charger thinking I could charge the phone and the Buds at the same time, but the one side of it can only charge galaxy watches not anything else so I sold that. Galaxy Smart Tag I could use, but it only works with Samsung phones and I don't plan on sticking with Samsung so I sold that too. The Buds Pro are pretty nice though, I had Pixel Buds and sold them and kept these. I miss having the Google Assistant in my ears but the Ambient Sound mode and the ANC and reliability of these is better. I don't think I've had a single connection issue with these yet.

The phone is pretty great, the in screen fingerprint reader is not as reliable as the Pixel's rear one so I don't know if I like that, but the screen is great and the camera is good enough. But I hate everything Samsung about the software... I tried using Samsung's stock apps but over time I have downloaded the Google versions of everything from the phone and messages apps to the calculator and clock. I miss a lot of pixel stuff, small stuff like being able to copy text from the app switching screen even. I hate being greeted with the T-Mobile jingle and logo when I start up the phone, and there is no way to get visual voicemail in the phone app on this phone using the Samsung or the Google phone app, so I am forwarding my voicemails to Google Voice. I'm not saying I'll never buy another Samsung phone, it's hard to beat their promo's and I might end up trading this one in for whatever new one next year if there's a similar promotion, the hardware is nice, and they are promising longer update support than Google which is ridiculous on Google's part, so if I was going to keep a phone for years a Samsung would be better I guess. But I definately prefer the Pixel software experience, so we'll see when the Pixel 6 comes out, I'll probably be back to Pixel. Samsung does have a lot of features but I don't find myself using or enjoying them anymore.

For me they all have gotten so much better and you can't go wrong with any. Oxygen OS is my favorite after using a Pixel 2XL for 2 years. I loved Pixel's UI and having updates first. But other skins have the features that were added to Pixel UI and it seems to be that way for the future too. Updates are definitely more important for a Pixel phone than other brands. But the animations and feel of Oxygen OS feel better to me than Pixel UI. Plus the couple extra features I appreciate more. This is Android 10 Oxygen OS vs Android 11 Pixel UI. I've also tried One UI 3 in store. You can hide whatever duplicate apps that you don't like and turn off all the features. In that state, the UI is just as smooth as Oxygen OS and Pixel UI. The extra features Samsung adds are nice and the hardware features are usually better for the price. I could use any phone but I prefer Oxygen OS for the software and Samsung for the hardware. Pixel's still are great, they just don't offer as much for the price to me and updates aren't really a big deal to me when other skins already have those features Pixels are slowly getting.

Just picked up an S20+ 5G and I now realize that Samsung is actually pushing the platform forward. It's so customizable and intuitive. There are actually too many choices but once you find the sweet spot, it's just excellent.

The main lack I'm feeling day-to-day is all the Assistant-driven features the dialer had. I did have to put in some work to get rid of all the extra cruft (looking at you, Bixby and Facebook and Microsoft).

On the other hand, there are some pretty useful features on the S21, which make excellent use of the screen real estate: You can put apps in pop-up mode, so they float over other apps; you can fling Picture-in-picture videos to the side if you're not actively watching them (I believe this is showing up in stock Android 12); the one-handed mode shrinks both the height and width of the screen, and is controlled with a very simple and smooth gesture.

The hardware of course is no comparison at all. The S21 Ultra is just a thing of beauty, and feels amazing in the hand, and the screen really is a huge upgrade over the Pixel 5. I use my phones naked and without screen protectors, and my Pixel 5 was all scratched up after a few days in my pocket. The S21's screen is still pristine.

I'm going to talk exclusively about android. I have owned an iphone but everyone knows how ios is. The three skins of Android I have used are samsung experience, oxygen os, and pixel. I'd say each face their own disadvantages and advantages. 

Samsung Experience: I don't really miss much from using my samsung phone but I know one ui definitely has advantages over some other skins of Android. I just didn't have one ui on my phone. 

Oxygen OS. I loved using oxygen os. It was fast, clean, customizable, and all the other things reviewers day. Some advantages you have over pixels is that you can have any accent color you want not just predefined ones by google, you can use icon packs on the default launcher, the gestures you can use while the screen is off, the notification shade showing way more icons than the stock one, being able to customize status bar icons without third party apps, parallel apps, and even more. Things I disliked were google discover not being available on the stock launcher so I used lawnchair instead (google discover was added on oxygen os 11 or if you have a t mobile version of a oneplus phone), slower updates, and less google integration.

The advantages of pixel os are that you get android updates the day they come out while your phone is supported, google integration by default like google discover and a better google assistant, google apps by default, I generally prefer the google versions of most apps, and good support. The disadvantages come in lack of customization. The accent color choices are limited and there is no proper icon support on pixel launcher, if you use nav keys instead of gestures you can't reaarrange the nav key order, and lack of some of the utilities that samsung and oneplus offer

<p>Samsung Experience: I don&#39;t really miss much from using my samsung phone but I know one ui definitely has advantages over some other skins of Android. I just didn&#39;t have one ui on my phone. </p>

Went from Nexus to Ios for about 4 years, now im back on Pixel 5. This one is easily my favorite of all the ones i bought, comes close to the iphone X on its first release

I am using a Pixel 4a and I enjoy everything about it now that  using it as my personal phone and not my work phone. I put a new battery in my S9 and am using that for work.

I love Pixel but there are definitely things I miss from Oxygen, One Plus's skin, like gestures.

I just love stock android. Easy to get things done. Aesthetically pleasing and just to the point. I just love it.

Also, I don't care about the lack of customisation that the pixel has versus Samsung.

Edit: thanks for all the comments. It's nice to know that most people like the pixel software or they go back to it after using other phones.
