The Datejust is such a versatile piece, as it’s lowkey enough not to be mixed with the Submariner gang, but it’s robust enough to play in the same league. Its timelessness is what keeps me from acquiring new watches, the design just works! You can work in the garden, wash the dishes or dress it up with a suit, it’s always right. Although I love the blue dials on Rolexes, I must say the white dial is just more versatile when it comes to day to day use.

There are many cheap mechanical watches that you can buy online that claim to be "85%" off every day, but in reality they are very poor quality knock offs that only look good from a distance. They operate poorly, giving inaccurate time and fail very quickly. This watch has been a constant buddy. Anytime I grab it off the counter I give it a shake, move the hands forward enough to roll the date and day one time, then set the time and I'm good for the rest of the day

10 years ago if you would have told me if I would be in love with a two tone Rolex Datejust I would have laughed!. Fast forward to 2021 and here we are with this beauty strapped to my wrist. I had been considering picking up a piece with some gold in it and was drawn to the classic Datejust with the fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. I stopped by my dealer to inquire and they happened to have this configuration with the newly released fluted motif dial and boy is it a looker!

The picture of the watch (on Amazon) is nowhere as attractive as the watch is actually. In the image, the face seems extremely black against a gleaming silver bracelet. However, looking at the watch in person, the tone of the metal and black of the face are perfect complements. The adjustment "knob" extends to two different lengths

I had not seen this particular model at other stores and ended up pulling the trigger to buy it. I loved the sharp contrast in the dial and indexes; really was the selling point for me.
