 The Denon offers much more in the way of features, and the sound is much better when it's being used for movies. Really this is true for streaming music too. The Pioneer sounds muddy when streaming music from Spotify or Apple. The Denon sounds crystal clear

 The Pioneer sounds like a cheap substitute.  I really wish Onkyo would have done a better job on the Pioneer 505. However it seems like they've limited its features to make the Rz50 look better.  I will be sending the Pioneer back

 The Onkyo has the ability to adjust the crossover frequencies for each speaker, and the Pioneer does not. This, along with a few other missing features is confusing, as the Pioneer is $100 more expensive. So you get more features with the Onkyo, and the price is cheaper. It's no wonder the RZ50 is impossible to find

 The Denon is also orders of magnitude better when it comes to movies.  One of the reasons I purchased this receiver is because of Dirac Live room correction and the expandability to use external amplification. Best bang for your buck receiver, supports 4K 120HZ gaming as well.

After 31 days of using this receiver, the remote unfortunately stopped working. A replacement remote did not fix the issue, Pioneer has determined it is an internal board issue, they asked me to work with WaltsTV (Amazon Seller), but unfortunately they will not honor an exchange after 31 days, I have to send the receiver to Pioneer for repairs, Pioneer has provided me with a label to ship. Estimated time for repairs is around 30+ days.  I purchased this receiver exclusively for my game room / office for 2 channel music listening and for Dolby Surround and Dolby Atmos gaming

DIRAC on a Pioneer! SOLD! - 31 Day Update - Repairs Needed Already

  This AVR is fully featured - there is a detailed manual available for download at Pioneer’s website - yet it is relatively easy to set up for anyone who doesn’t want to get into the various features for customization. Here are a few features that I found outstanding, and are not entirely obvious (the manual is quite good, but does miss some detail):  Dirac Live speaker/room EQ - full version - while you can use the included mic connected to the unit for a basic set up, using the Mac/PC version of Dirac with a third-party calibrated mic provides more control. To do this the AVR and your computer must both be connected to the same local network and the internet. After launching Dirac on your Mac/PC, it will automatically find and connect to the Pioneer

 I am sure that they are decently implemented, but I don’t use them at all. I prefer music as it was intended by the artist/producer/engineer team.  The combination of features, quality of audio, and ease of use make this AVR an excellent 7.1

 The only negative is that Pioneer only provides three personal settings.  Pioneer Remote App - this is an iOS (and Android, which I did not try) app that controls all aspects of the AVR, and in some cases eliminates the need to have your monitor on. For example, if you have a connected USB device for music playback, you can access the entire disc, rapidly, without bothering with the monitor. Use of the app requires that the AVR is connected to your local network

 I initially used the AVR with an external power amp for the front channels plus surround back but ultimately settled on using the internal amplifiers, much simpler with a perfectly fine result. Perhaps for someone listening a high volumes in a large room an external amp would be needed, but for me, the internal amplifiers are fine.  This AVR is fully featured - there is a detailed manual available for download at Pioneer’s website - yet it is relatively easy to set up for anyone who doesn’t want to get into the various features for customization. Excellent mono through 7.1.4 receiver with Dirac Live

 Bluetooth not malfunctioning on any other receivers only this one. Final thought: this receiver has great functionality and sounds fantastic. But the Bluetooth issues are very annoying. Should not need to reboot everything for this to work correctly

 Hope I don't have to update the review as I am seeking a long-term relationship with this unit.  Update: less than two weeks, when trying to stream Pandora -Bluetooth would pair then disconnect 3 times. Then unit shutoff. Hard reboot (unplug from elect

 With my preference going to whichever speakers i just so happen to prefer in a specific application, so next, let's talk about power output, as i mentioned before, it should have enough power to satisfy most people's needs. The critical thing here is that you really do need to pay attention to the manufacturer's recommendation. This receiver is meant for speakers that are rated at six ohms or higher. So that's what you want to stick with

 It has better and more accurate tone. The bass is quicker. The mid-range takes on more of an accurate presentation. The treble is smoother and more refined by direct comparison, it's just a better sounding unit in pretty much every way, but you have to live with this compromise

 So they don't soak up much power from the wall and then they're very small. You can put them just about anywhere, you want in the room and then even beyond that we have distinct sonic advantages. Usually they will sound cleaner. The bass will be more controlled

 There'S much more resolution. It'S a lot more transparent. It has better and more accurate tone. The bass is quicker

Sony STR-DH190 Stereo Receiver Review:  It's Actually Good!

 After a couple of days of putting everything together, I found myself more and more disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it's not worth returning, but this is basic. Very basic. My 70's Pioneer stereo was much more robust with better technology (seriously)

 Bluetooth reception works well and also sounds great. It's a great basic little receiver (maybe a little over-priced for what it does).

turn off the stereo, the sound bar turns off. Change the volume on the stereo, the sound bar volume changes. Mute the television, and the stereo also mutes. How annoying!  Connecting to a TV? - I'm still trying to figure that out

I wouldn't buy or recommend this particular receiver.

 So they're, probably i can see this anyway, all right sony, it's a two channel receiver. What does that mean? It has fm tuner yeah fm tuner also has a phono stage. Okay, i think it has four inputs and bluetooth. Okay, it works it's rated at 100 watts times two all right

 So i'm like okay, let's see what you can do. Little sony, inexpensive receiver and i hooked up the elac unifi ub5s a notoriously hard to drive speaker. It'S got low sensitivity, 4-ohm speaker dips below 4 ohms, it's a beast. It'S a beast to drive, it worked

Sony Receiver Review - STR-DH190 - Fill Your Soul with Happiness for less than $200 all in...

I have most of the keys memorized and can find them by touch in the dark, but the volume controls are on the lower half of the remote amid some useless-for-me buttons meant for some other Sony device (like a DVD player?). I like that the input buttons are large and a lighter color, but the rocker volume control is harder to feel-out in a dark room

The Center of My Sound System!

Hooked up the Mani 2, didn’t touch anything per the instruction manual, and it sounds terrible. It’s WAY too loud, and anytime the music swells at all there’s a fraying sound. For reference, I used to play most records around volume 30 with the ART DJ, with the Mani 2 30 was blasting and distorted, had to turn it down to like 17 for the same volume and could still hear fraying.

Have had this reciver a week and it's a really nice receiver for the money Bluetooth works great fm stations come in nicely.I am only giving it three stars because the bass is very weak .my last reciver i only needed the bass at half way and was enough.Not so with this reciver it's up all the way and it's still not  enough bass

 And in 2020, I do think is rather inexcusable, even at this price point. But the Sony DH-190 still looks the part and looks very slick, especially from your proper seating distance. But at $99, all of these things aside, I think we just have to kind of keep things in perspective. And that is it's a very competently built piece, but you can see where they've cut corners to save on cost

 So while something may be cheap, there's no guarantee that that's going to make it good. But what if it could be? What if you could have good sound, decent features for under $100? And no, I'm not talking about buying something used. I am talking about something you can get right now from a name brand with a warranty. Would you be interested? Well, hit that like button and subscribe because today we are talking about the cheapest stereo receiver that I know of in the Sony STR-DH190

You guys have repeatedly told us that our SX450 from Pioneer is an entry-level stereo receiver, and it's nowhere near as good as other Pioneer designs, and yet I paid a lot more than $99 for this so-called entry-level vintage piece. So yeah, once again, the Sony is proving to be the better overall value. So to wrap it up, the Sony STR-DH190 is a surprisingly good and cheap stereo receiver
