Going with a Micro Four Thirds option like the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III can be a great way to save money, not just on the camera body but also on lenses. While a smaller sensor might mean worse overall image quality and low-light capability, you can still get excellent images out of a camera like this, especially if you only plan on sharing them online. Plus, you get a more portable overall kit since the crop factor on the sensor means you can get more focal reach out of physically smaller lenses.

It's also weather-sealed and sturdy, giving you some peace of mind while traveling. On top of that, built-in image stabilization allows you to get clear shots at slower shutter speeds, and the camera has a pretty decent AF system, though it falls short of class-leading competitors like the Sony &alpha;7C. Battery life is also a bit underwhelming, but if you're looking for a portable and feature-packed camera system that won't cost you a ton, Olympus is one of the best options.

The Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III is the best mid-range camera we've tested for sports. It uses a smaller Four Thirds sensor than the APS-C sensor on the Fujifilm X-T4, so video quality isn't as high, but it makes for an even more portable camera. You'll also get more focal reach out of physically smaller lenses, meaning you can shoot at telephoto lengths without a super bulky kit. On top of that, the E-M5 has a very effective five-axis IBIS system to help reduce camera shake when shooting handheld.

That said, its AF system isn't as reliable, and it has fewer frame rate options than the Fujifilm. However, you still get a high-speed recording mode in 1080p for slow-motion shots. Overall, it's a very solid camera for the price, and it's an especially good option if you need something lightweight and portable. It's also weather-sealed and feels pretty sturdy, meaning it can put up with fairly heavy use in trickier weather conditions.

 like the G 95, that's the closest competitor here. It might seem like a difficult choice between this and the Panasonic G 95. It's natural competitor since this camera has uncropped 4k better image stabilization on it and phase detect autofocus. However, the G95 gets you the log recording and a headphone jack

 This camera is basically the same price and I feel like the Panasonic camera gives you lots of features, a higher res EVF with better magnification and the ability to change eye relief. The Panasonic G9 also gives you very similar features as far as multi shot game abilities, 4k 60 video and again we're talking the exact same price point but again it is a larger heavier body. One thing though about the Panasonic and one shining thing for this camera Panasonic's are still doing contrast detect only D FD which in single autofocus is brilliant but in continuous can be a little bit distracting, although it is still effective if you're really looking for having Faye's detect autofocus in a small compact body. well that might be where the E M53 shines

 You're getting phase detect autofocus array, which is probably the biggest improvement here and that does give us really nice. I Detect capabilities Quick focusing, no wobble I Am really enjoying that now on this series of camera. we're also getting the same processing engine. but I Guess my point is this: the E M12 is by no means a new camera alright and we need to see some innovation here in the Micro Four Thirds lineup

The EVF appears slightly small by comparison with some other micro four-thirds models, but you'd never notice it's in a side-by-side comparison. It's a decent EB F in use

Is that normal behaviour with this lens? None of the reviews mentioned that. I tried the usual things like reset the camera, updated the firmware, etc but nothing has changed.

I have a M100 and purchased the 22mm f2 EF-M for traveling after reading the great reviews about this lens. I have some weird behaviour though when I equip the camera with this particular lens.

Finally the Canon M100 (or M200) is a camera which I don't normally recommend as it lacks manual controls, but would probably fit quite well here - it's cheap, compact, and while the video won't win any awards it's fair for the 24mbps bit rate. And the autofocus is quite good. The GX85 is a much, much better camera if you want to learn to capture _good_ video though, but it sounds like this is more means-to-an-end than hobby.

I think my main concern is that it has an easy mechanism for changing the memory disk so I can keep recording and I don’t have to download every single video to my computer and instead I can keep everything in external disks (or maybe there is an easier way you guys can recommend).

I don’t need the best quality. I just want to be able to look at the videos when I’m 60 years old and remember those good moments.

VideoCamera recommendation (family events etc)

 If you're shooting your photos or videos with an higher ISO setting than normal and these photos maybe just for Instagram or for Facebook or they belong to grandma's photo album you can basically go to 6400 or ISO 12800 with a rapid loss of image quality. But once you want to take these photos for a large printout I would recommend not going beyond ISO 3200. After ISO 3200 or even 6400 the photos look quite grainy. And if you want to convince yourself about the low light performance of the Canon EOS M100 there is a link with some examples in the video description below for private use only and for Lightroom home analyzing

 I guess it's a bit too small to be honest with you with my hands because these two fingers are just here in the air and doing nothing. So I guess this camera is better if you use it as a backup body or if you have smaller hands. The tilt type display is ideal for selfies and videos and of course it offers a full manual mode for photos and videos which is a great value for money because if you're bored using the automatic mode just go into the manual mode and expand your knowledge in terms of photography using ISO and aperture and of course the shutter speed as appropriate to the situation. I guess it's the ideal compact camera while you travel a lot and you're a bit fed up with the results of your smartphone

 Ouch! The photos taken with the flash look a bit contrasty and of course a bit bleached out. But anyways it fulfills its purpose. Let's talk about all the buttons and switches around the camera. On top there's the on and off button

 I figured out that taking photos in RAW plus JPEG the amount of photos you can take is about 15 to 20 photos and then the buffer is already beat up. So make sure to get a fast writing SD card that allows you to take basically unlimited amount of photos while shooting in JPEG only. Still talking about the autofocus it's much quicker during photo recording also using the tap focus or the normal focus with the shutter release button. And once you're in video mode and you go from far to narrow you can see it takes about 1 to 2 seconds until the camera focus correctly

 Hello my friends and followers and welcome to the review on Canon's new EOS M100, a small, compact, light, mirrorless digital camera.

 And let's talk about the question first, for what kind of people is this camera made?

 I would say it's made for people starting with photography or people who have already a Canon camera with maybe some lenses.

 Because if you get the Canon EF-M adapter you might use all Canon lenses that you got already.

 It's a lightweight and compact camera which makes it ideal for traveling.

 And of course through the tilt type display it's ideal for people who like to take a lot of selfies or starting a video blog on YouTube.

 And last but not least this camera offers a full manual mode for photo and video which makes it ideal if you want to expand your knowledge.

 Let's talk about the design of the Canon EOS M100 first.

 It has been the same design now for ages.

 I would have preferred a more angular shape to make this camera outstanding compared to other cameras.

 By extending your flash it seems to be that the flash wants to elude from the camera housing.

 So don't be scared when extending the flash. That's the normal sound it does when you try to extend it.

 The photos taken with the flash look a bit contrasty and of course a bit bleached out.

 Let's talk about all the buttons and switches around the camera.

 On top there's the on and off button. Next to it is the shutter release button.

 A small button for starting and stopping a video sequence.

 On the lower side the battery compartment with the LPE12 battery with 875 mAh that allows you to take 400 photos or 1 hour of video recording.
