Awesome camera - definitely worth the switch from Canon!
I have only had it for 6 days and, as a lifelong Canon shooter, am still on the learning curve, but so far, I love what this camera can do. Perhaps the biggest surprise so far, is that my Canon glass with the MC11 adapter performs better with the Sony. Case in point is my Canon 70-200 F2.8. On my 7D...
The 6 Best Cameras For Low-Light Photography - Spring 2022
All in all, if you're looking for a solid video camera that performs well in low light, this is one of the better options.
Am I crazy or is Canon 90D better than Sony A7 III?
I hate the clunky touch screen, that doesn't let you do anything other than zoom in on pictures, crazy battery drain, and worst of all, the pictures it produces. Idk if it's the camera or the lenses, but I have it for a week and didn't like a single picture I took. On my Canon 90D I was amazed by just how good the pictures were, and a lot of the time didn't even do any editing, because they were so good straight out of the camera. As everyone seem to absolutely love Sony A7 III and trash DSLRs, am I crazy or is this the most overhyped camera of all time?.
Sony FX3 vs Blackmagic 6k pro... Thoughts?
I’ve heard a few people say that the A7S iii, while not a full cinema camera, beats out the FX3 and is a little cheaper. Granted you don’t have that XLR adapter handle, but you can probably get a used XLR-K2M (which I use on my A7iii and really enjoy) for the difference in price. There’s a good revi...

Weekly /r/SonyAlpha 'Ask Anything About Gear' Thread
I went with Sony because it seems like the third party lens selection is better than for Fuji. Ended up getting the a6500 for about $600 on eBay and it arrived in pretty great condition, with lots of extras included by surprise (8 batteries, dual battery charger, a leather case thing, external flash, and the kit lens). Also purchased a new Sigma 16mm F/1.4 and a used TTArtisan 50mm F/1.2.
Lens suggestions YouTube tutorials with Sony A7 III
First and foremost, I'm an industrial robotics engineer and not a filmmaker.
I work for a software company and part of my job is to record YouTube tutorials.
Those are a great success so far. I started from scratch 3 years ago, just recording voice and screen, doing the editing and all. Le...
Fantastic camera with minor annoyances
Before getting into the details, I'll just get the summary out of the way: This camera is fantastic. It is replacing my aging Canon 5D Mark III, and it does that job well. The biggest benefit for me is the in-body stabilization (SteadyShot), which works perfectly for legacy and other non-stabilized ...
