I couldn't convince myself to spend $70 on the olight S2R Baton but I wanted a nice purple light so I ordered this convoy S2 plus. The first time I ordered from gearbest but after a month or so it never shipped so I had to cancel and ordered it from AliExpress. First impressions are pretty positive. It feels well made I like the metal push button on the tail 

My Convoy S2+ finally arrived...I love it.

 With quick reacting, I yelled at the would be intruder and as he turned around I activated the turbo setting and immediately aimed it toward his face, to which he responded by immediately hiding his face with his hoodie. For fear that he may have had a weapon on him, I continued to shine the turbo onto him so as he would not have visual confirmation on me. As he left my front door he attempted to break into another building across the street to which, acting out of pure adrenaline I chased him across the street and this time activated the strobe light causing him to abandon his attempt and fled, still covering his face with his hood as he could not function with the strobe on him. Several other events occurred after this, but they would be irrelevant to this review

  Tonight, as I was returning home from on my nightly walks, I came across an individual who under some sort of influence, attempting to break into my apartment building's front door. I did not carry any of my usual EDCs with me as I only left for a few minutes to get some fresh air, but I always carry my Olight SR2 no matter the time of day or occasion. I absolutely love the size! This small light is very durable and the magnet is strong. Unfortunately the one I purchased the battery didn't last long. Only other negative I have is I wish they would incorporate a power button on the bottom. (I used it for a night fire drill and the small power on the side was annoying)

 But still a great flashlight. Now one of the reasons I switched to the Streamlight HLX was because I could not use the Streamlight rechargeable batteries in these lights. These only accept CR123A batteries, which was unfortunate. I was really hoping to continue to use this, but the Streamlight is brighter, it's more efficient, it has a couple more other features in it, and it allows me to use the rechargeable batteries

 You know, they don't come with as many functions as the Streamlights. They're maybe not as bright. Like I said, these are 600 lumens and the Streamlight is 1,000. But if I had to choose a light just to take camping or something, or I know it's going to be real, real rough, I'm taking the Surefire

 So this particular one I carried for about 6 years as a police officer. It was a fantastic light, it's served me well, it's nearly indestructible, and it's fairly lightweight for what it is. It does use the CR123A batteries, and it usually runs for about $60 for just this standard model here. The whole series are about 600 lumens with a couple of variations, and some of them have dual beams, so you have like a 600 lumen high setting, and then like a 320 low lumen setting

Surefire G2X Flashlight Overview

Love the fact that its made in the USA and it works great! The only thing is the battery life is poor, even if I rarely use the 600 lumen setting. I use it on and off for very short periods of time maybe 5 times a day at work and the batteries die in about a week and a half. I have yet to try regular store bought batteries so hopefully those will last longer than the Surefire brand it came with. Otherwise I love it

Battery Life Could Be Better

 This surefire lasted maybe one month longer on my belt than an 18650 rechargeable naturesmart. 11 months and 20 sets of batteries ($70 here on amazon) and I'm out the price of an olight for no freaking reason. Needs a method to program the dual mode switch. Like it is it runs like an old incandescent teasing ya with partial light for 5-20 minutes at the end of the batteries cycle
