I know you can’t get rid of pores but I’m wondering is there anyway to make them smaller? I use La Roche Posay products. They keep my acne mostly at bay but I feel like my pores are just so large. Part of it is genetic, but just wondering if there’s anything else I can do at home to help. Thanks!

 The "diopter" creep continued until I would need to set the diopter to the Max "+" in order to maintain the barrels parfocal. I chalked it up to a manufacturing defect and eagerly waited a replacement pair. At first, the replacement pair needed only minimal diopter adjustment (as is necessary with all my other binoculars). But once again with repeated usage, I needed to adjust the diopter offset more and more

 In time though, I have really grown to appreciate my Zeiss Conquests to the point that they are the only BInoculars I use now.

 I also own a pair of Kowa 10x32 BDXD, Steiner WIldlife Pro XP 10x26. and Redfield 10x50's Additionally, I own a VIXEN 102mm fluorite F9 telescope, so you could say that I like optics. I was very impressed with the image quality, and the wider field was a nice improvement over the Monarch 5's. They also were better collimated than the Monarch 5's

Problems with Diopter adjustment drift

I recently purchased Nikon Monarch HG binoculars. Other Nikon products I've purchased in the past made me comfortable buying again, but the reasons I went for the HGs are because they are made in Japan and have field flatteners.

What are you guys using for birding?

 I don’t live near any large sportsman stores that carry a decent selection of optics. Everything in my area is low- to mid-level. My interest in higher-end optics is relatively new, so I haven’t done much looking around when I’ve been in larger cities.  Based on my experience with low- and mid-level bins, I assumed the view would be pretty awesome and the build quality would be just as great for this high-end bino

 They actually stay on, which is a whole lot better than any other pair I own. My Nikon Action Extreme porro binoculars have terrible covers, so the difference there is night and day. On the other end, I’m not crazy about the eyepiece cover. It is a harder plastic that, while functional, seems a bit out of place and doesn’t slide on and off very well

  Optics In all honesty, I was not blown away when I looked through these bins. That was a little disappointing at first glance, but then I started to pay more attention to what I was seeing. Or, more to the point, what I wasn’t seeing. I am used to bins that are pretty decent, but I always notice that I’m looking through a lot of glass

  The diopter adjustment works well. I haven’t had any issue with the locking ring not staying locked. Also, there has been no sign of diopter drift, which has been reported in a couple other reviews I’ve seen online.  Overall, this seems to be a well-made binocular

 I compared viewing with a set of 10 x 42 MG's with Premier 8 X 42's. Very little improvement in magnification. Why was the Premier line discontinued? Nikon has nothing to replace it at this time. I've also experienced "issues" with Nikon Repair Service

These are absolutely amazing for the prize. We compared my set against Lecia Geovids, Vortex Razor and Swaro's. These held their own against the Leica's and we're just edged out by the Swaro's that were $2800, and beat out the Razor's easily. I also love the weight of these and compact size

 Definitely an awesome buy for the money, and if that's not enough just do google search for reviews.

 The edges were always indistinct and blurry. The Pentax has longer eye relief and eye cups that quickly telescope out for spectacles-free viewing, and retract for eyeglass wearers. Way better than chintzy fold-down eye cups. With the Pentax I get the full, clear field of view with sharp edges

I like this glass!

 I like that there is practically no distortion at the edges. The focus wheel is steady and sure. The eye relief is above what anyone would expect in a pair of compact binoculars. Although slightly heavier than some, they are easy to grip without causing my hand to cramp

I have been looking for a pair of lightweight travel binoculars that I could easily carry in my backpack. These were recommended by Wirecutter, and the price was good. So I bought them and am very happy. While not as bright as my 8x42 pair, they are surprising bright

 I had no fears nor problems with them in bad weather. No problems with them misting up (e.g. if you move indoors from cold outdoors) * Rubber armour helps protect against light damage - but not a (relatively small I should add) drop to hard ground! * Easy to adjust for spectacles if needed - twist eye pieces

  I think I will stick with a monocular for carrying out and about in a pocket. While I use larger, regular binoculars I do not think I will buy another small/folding binocular.

Excellent but fragile

 Users without eyeglasses should find these much easier to use.  I use these primarily for backpacking as they are lightweight and good quality, especially for the price. Nearly all other times I use my 8x42 Nikon Monarch 7's.  Would purchase again

Difficult to Use with Eyeglasses.

These are great portable binos. We have larger, better binoculars to carry when our only goal on a walk is birdwatching, but it's nice to have a smaller, lighter, more compact pair that can be stashed in a handbag or kept in the glove compartment such that they're always handy. My husband and I both wear eyeglasses, and the eye relief on these is enough for us both to use these without having to remove the glasses first. A big win

 The rain cover is pathetic and you will want to replace it. The main optic covers are ok, but seriously lacking. You will want to tie them to the binoculars with string so you don't lose them. Unfortunately the front cross member makes it impossible to use most aftermarket lens covers

Excellent optics

 I took them on a trip to Nunavut, riding around on ATVs looking for polar bears. The size fit right in my pocket and they were perfect for spotting bears way across water and tracking them. Any stronger and they'd be too shaky to hand hold or too big to bring along with my other camera gear. The open bridge is also perfect for getting a good grip

They don't attach to the lens when on and when off they don't attach either so you have to pocket them

I'm trying to devise my own caps that stay on to protect the lens when in your pocket but can be flipped off easy and dangle from the binos so you need not worry about losing them. Anyway I got these new for $235 so it's still an amazing deal

Great quality and build for the price

A very fine instrument ideal for carrying in an anorak pocket or slung around the neck via the lanyard as it suits.  I purchased this binocular to replace a Leica 8x20 that became "waterlogged" and proved beyond repair. The Leica are priced a 3 to 4 times that of the Pentax 8x25; the only attribute worthy of the Leica is its more compact size but for the rest you are paying for the "name".  Incidentally, as a practicing astronomer I have wide experience of optical equipment owning instruments by Carl Zeiss et al
