Nikon Monarch 5

I'm an avid outdoorsman and have been wanting to get into bird watching, hunting, and just general exploring/tracking of animals. I have never had a good set of binos but have had a couple of \~$30 ones. My dad knew I was looking to get a good pair and he did a bunch of research which landed him on the Monarch 5.

But also I like the Nikon Monarch M5 or M7 (Check REI or B&H Photo for possible deals). I’d go for 10x42 if you plan to get the tripod, but if no tripod then I suggest 8x42 (much less shake imo). Have fun! That’s a cool view.

Believe it's the monarch 5. To the extent you can stretch your budget to the monarch 7 I would recommend it, the extra field of view helps

Ultimately ended up ordering the Nikon Monarch 5 8x42 for hiking, birding, and stargazing. Now, I just found out that I have access to deeply discounted Bushnell binos. I am looking now at the Engage 8x42, 10x50, or 12x50. I initially ordered the Nikons because I am not experienced and preferred steadiness over magnification (for now).
