I recently purchased Nikon Monarch HG binoculars. Other Nikon products I've purchased in the past made me comfortable buying again, but the reasons I went for the HGs are because they are made in Japan and have field flatteners.

It's not like I own any Zeiss or Swarovski, with the Monarch 7 being the best in my collection. It's just that I am absolutely dumbfounded that some toy looking binoculars are beating even the Nikon Aculon. Only the Prostaff and Monarch beats those kiddy binos. Most of the ones in the picture above can focus under 10 feet, the kiddy ones are about 7 feet (which is insanely good), the Svbony ones are embarrassing at 20 feet+ but are not bright enough for astro.

In addition to the Monarch 7, I would also consider the Zeiss Terra ED. I personally prefer 8x42 for birding.
