 here. You have your power switch here or power plug there. You have your coax cable connection there. you have a reset button that's um, you need something to push within like a pin or something and you have a connection to your your network

 I'm not even sure you can do that. Um, but um, yeah. you'll need your ex an external router or something from the Linksys or Tcp. or Tc link or Tp link or whatever

 I don't have gigabit service so I haven't tested it at that speed. but I get good, solid connectivity. Um, whatever thing I connect with it. Um, so yeah, um uh

 Great product. So hey, if you're looking to cut that, um, cut that bill back some um, switch, own your own device. uh this is a good good one to buy if you're on those cable services that is, uh um, that it works with. So um, yeah, go ahead and pick it up

 I've had other ones that um, you know were provided by my Um service provider and I weren't as weren't that impressed with it. But you know I like the Motorola brand. I've always liked the Motorola brand when it comes to routers and phones and everything else. and um, this one's It's been really a really solid modem for me

100.1 and the password, the username is admin and the password is password and of course once you log in you get this Netgear Genie screen. That gives you the information about your connection here, how many channels and all this other good stuff. So we'll go ahead and do a speed test here

 So for me the upload is 141 megabits per second. But you know this isn't bad. So if you're not getting real good download speeds, just try different servers because sometimes those servers get busy and they don't have the upload capacity or they may have technical problems or difficulties. But this is the Cox Gigablast on the Netgear CM1000 modem

 So we're going to try a different server. Let's try this Citizen Cell Phone Cooperative. Oh, can't connect to them because they're too busy. Let's try a Firefly fiber broadband

 The app that I'm using is the speedtest.net app. You can go to the Windows Store or even Apple Store and download it for free and install it. It's a lot more accurate than going to the website

So, long story short. I wouldn’t buy this unless it works with your provider, it may be backwards compatible but it’s best to get one that you know works for sure

 He then went on to tell me I should sign up for their new 200mbps plan because my old 200mbps wasn’t giving me the full speed, and if I did I can get their cable modem for free without paying any rental fee. Well, I was livid. I just spent $160 for this modem, and was told it would work. I said it was supposed to be backwards compatible, to which he replied with that while it is backwards compatible the DOCSIS 3

 The associate I was speaking with then told me “Oh, the modem you are using isn’t compatible with our Network”. I told him I was told this when I called the last time. He then went on to tell me I should sign up for their new 200mbps plan because my old 200mbps wasn’t giving me the full speed, and if I did I can get their cable modem for free without paying any rental fee. Well, I was livid

I don’t know if I can fault the modem, or Spectrum for this...

 So that's why it's blue in case you ever wonder when you get electronics why it's a different color plastic that is wrapped in. Alright, yeah I like this one. But anyway, we're hoping that this will help with the consistency of our strength of signal and so I'm going to show you how to hook it up, it's really simple. This one is your power source, alright, it's where you plug it in down here, okay

 Now what I'm going to do is, I'm going to use the existing wires that are already there, so you can see the yellow cable right here coming out of the bottom of this, this is our old modem, okay. So I'm going to unplug that and I will unplug my router, this is our router, okay. Those are plugged in down here, I'll unplug both of those, that's where the power going to them. I'm going to take this off the wall, I'll unplug the power cable back here, okay, ethernet cable that goes to the router, and then this is my cable coming in from the house, just unscrew your cable, okay, you can see, same thing

 So what you have with your wifi at your house, what you have is you have a modem, most people have some kind of cable internet. So a cable comes into the house, it goes into here, this is your modem, it will go into this and then you have a wire, ethernet cable running from this to your wifi router. So you have your modem and then you have a router, those are two separate things. This brings your internet signal into your house

 Those are plugged in down here, I'll unplug both of those, that's where the power going to them. I'm going to take this off the wall, I'll unplug the power cable back here, okay, ethernet cable that goes to the router, and then this is my cable coming in from the house, just unscrew your cable, okay, you can see, same thing. Now this one didn't have a color code, but most of them do, most of them are yellow. Alright, now this new one, like I showed you before, it's the back there, it's got a little on off button, which is nice, a lot of them don't have that, you just have to unplug it usually to reset it, and it has a reset button, which is really cool too

It does not matter if use Ethernet cable straight to the router or Wifi, I get the same speed across every device I test. I have used CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6e & CAT8 cables with same effect. My Modem is a Netgear CM1000 3.1 DOCSIS (10Gbps) and Router is a Protectli 4-Port 8GB RAM (1Gbps) with a TPLINK AX5400 (1Gbps) for WiFi access point

 I just want to have the speed I'm paying for. EDIT: time log was 02:42:02. Crazy amount of time that took the Representative 10 min to confirm with me. After correcting the modem issue and contacting Cox again, everything is working but with this type of customer support and no way to have them call you back is crazy

 After the testing of my service and equipment with my ISP technician the router refused to provide an IP addressand produce speeds above 220mbps, and could not complete the test. I know my router is fine because my last service before I moved I was getting between 300-500mbps with it. So I call Netgear in hopes that I can either trouble shoot an issue or replace this modem since it is still under warranty. I get ahold of a Representative after holding 30min or so which is fine, but as they ask me basic info about the device and serial number they then asked if the lights where all on and green, or flashing etc

 I'm transferred and put on hold now for what seems like eternity but I'm going to have to wait so I can get this fixed. The wait sucks but I'm truly frustrated that after spending $185 for this upgrade I was downgraded and tossed to the side by support. I just want to have the speed I'm paying for. regularly has technical issues and i dont have the time to troubleshoot needy tech

 And that's probably due to the amazing power of the DOCSIS 3.1 that's programmed into the actual device as well as having those 32 downstream and 8 upstream channels which makes it a very powerful modem to have at your disposal. If you're working at home, you're streaming a lot of video, you've got a bunch of people to live at your house, maybe you've got kids, I think we all have kids, just about, then this may be just the modem for you and you may actually want to go and get yourself set up with a service like we have, like for instance we have Cox Gigablast, most of the providers now have some sort of gigabit type of connection available in their respective states. So that would definitely be a good modem to pick up
