I, however, own a 7i for a few weeks now and the device is working perfectly. Thermals are perfect, 240Hz 500 nits screen, and the build feels more premium than the Legion 5 and Y740 I was considering. I did not face any issues so far.

I have had my Y740 for a while and it suffered damages due to mishandling on a technical service done by Lenovo.

Lenovo is now offering me a new model to replace my Y740 but it lacks a few things: GSync, HDR screen and Windows Pro. However the one I am getting has a new chipset, latest generation i7 and 32 GB of RAM instead of 16 GB.

My last notebook was a 16” MacBook Pro (which only pulls 100 watts max), so I was quite shocked by how much the Legion 7i weighs. The laptop itself isn't exactly light but the 300 watt power supply is a real beast. So yeah, it's heavy, but that's to be expected with a machine of this power and it's not at all a dealbreaker.

I purchased the i7/32GB/1TB/3080 model and I'm very happy with it. The i7 is quite fast as is but can be undervolted and overclocked to achieve better than i9 performance. The GPU is a real monster and is fantastic for 3D rendering since it has 16GB VRAM. In the Blender benchmarks I've run, only the desktop 3080ti and 3090 cards consistently beat it for OptiX rendering

 I will update this as I run across things that I like and don't like to much. Pros:  The price for these specs is just unrivaled. I have been looking for a laptop with these specs for a reasonable price and nothing has even come close. If you look at laptops in the price range they either have a 1050, which is crap, or a 1060 with 3g, which is also crap

 Why I consider this to be a con is because when gaming it will need to be plugged it. Since I plan to game with it more than anything else that battery is going to get wrecked by having it plugged in 24/7.  Update 6/13/17 Decided to return the laptop. I enjoyed it alot when it was working

 Unfortunately you need the very specific nvidia driver from ACER. You cannot update to the newest. Windows also tried to update it for you so the graphics cards keeps crashing pr not enabling. Would consider again if the issue gets resolved but as of now it isn't worth the constant hassle

Amazing for price

 Some people may not like the black and red stuff, but, to me, they look very good and I like them. I wouldn't have any problem to show in public places with my laptop, unlike other people who wouldn't like to get all the attention because of the gaming accents on the laptop. Overall, the laptop has great performance, gives great experience and what is more, its price is the best! Would totally recommend buying it!

 The battery life is pretty good as well. It can last for 5-6 hours when using it for easy stuff like browsing, working, listening to music or anything like this. When playing, it lasts for maximum 2–2:30 hours. In my opinion, it is a very good battery and I am totally satisfied with it
