  I'll probably forget to update this review down the line if my feelings change, but if it's anything like the last laptop I had, I'll probably bump it up a star or two based on longevity.

 The cool thing about it is that it charges very quickly.  Wifi works fine and it comes with a ethernet cord slot when you need it. Video quality is good and refresh rate is adequate.  Form Factor is strange as the GTX 1660ti pushes past the hinge of the screen, so you have the fans and video components jut out about an inch from where the base of the screen rests

Nice Entry-level Gaming Laptop with "meh" Battery Life and Annoying Lenovo Bloatware Installed

 The right USB does this less so I use that one. I haven't done any heavy gaming yet so I can't attest to its performance there yet, but so far the airflow during heavy usage seems good and the keyboard is very decent. Also, the webcam has a built-in manual slider to block/unblock it which was a cool bonus.

This is my 3rd Legion 5 laptop. I got the 1st one from Walmart with the following specs: 4600H Ryzen 5, 120HZ 250 nits screen, 256 GB SSD + 1TB HDD, and only a GTX 1650ti. My 2nd was the same but a slightly cheaper price when it was on sale from Lenovo which featured the same screen, GTX 1650, and 512GB SSD + 1TB HDD . I decided to get this from Amazon since it has a GTX 1660ti and a better screen with 144hz and 300 nits brightness

This model did have a bug with the keyboard lighting that it refuses to turn on via the keyboard shortcut. This was recently fixed via a bios update from Lenovo

  As from my screenshots, the Lenovo Vantage software is a simple software to tweak your laptop and it features overclocking your GPU, only when performance mode is enabled. You can also choose to overdrive the screen response time which videos from Jarrod's tech shows the difference and I would recommend turning this feature on.  The screen also has a yellowish tint to it when white is displayed on the screen, a slight annoyance that I manage to fix within the Radeon settings with the color settings. The screen is sorta usable outdoors

 This never happens. It never switches to charging the battery again. According to MSI's Dragon Center software, it doesn't even register the adapter is plugged in to the laptop once it's stopped charging. The battery just stays uncharged and draining until I physically remove the power adapter from the outlet and plug it back in

 So, returned for this reason. The way this is implemented is not remotely useable by any sense of the word. Even if it was working correctly, I find this to be a terrible design choice and unnecessary at best.  Some positives; trackpad's tactile feedback is solid, but I don't like how it registers contact with your fingers for right- and left-clicks, pinch-to-zoom, etc

  The keyboard font (spiderman / playstation 3? Really?) and layout is just terrible. When you've used computers your whole life and you still find yourself double guessing what a key is..yikes

Hybrid Power Issues Galore - Effectively DOA

 I love the stealth look to it. I don't have to be the guy that plops down a glowing alienware on a conference table for a meeting.

  Edit for #1: An update finally fixed that problem and it is good to go. I am keeping it!  Second, I am not a gamer. I am replacing a workstation class laptop with this machine and that is my use case, so I don't know a lot about the gaming performance since I don't do much in the way of games.  The stock drive IO I tested with crystal disk and finished at upper middle tier speeds (2450/1900) and has been problem free

  Two things first for full disclosure. One, I should say that as much as I like it, I might be sending it back because there is a problem with the GPU. There is a single white dot that looks like a stuck pixel on the screen, but it always renders on whatever you set the primary screen, even when you change monitors, resolutions, etc. It only appears when the Nvidia GPU is in use though

  The keyboard leaves something to be desired. I had no idea how spoiled I had become with my lenovo workstation keyboard. It's not bad per say, but I am not a gamer so my requirements are a little different.  Edit #2: The keyboard has really grown on me and while still not as good as the lenovo, it's pretty decent when you get used to it

 A numerical score is kinda arbitrary and pointless, especially since I haven’t tried any other gaming laptops and don’t have any comparison point, but I’d give this a solid 8.5/10 if I had to assign a score. So, there you have it.

Msi stealth is amazing and extremely portable. It’s what I use and can handle everything. This is well within your budget as well.

Run all games nicely on ultra settings. Fans keep relatively quiet to other gaming laptops. Decent thermals comparatively to other laptops.

Smooth plan and simple to open top. Great keyboard with fair travel, clicky input, and a discretionary RGB backlighting.
