 As you can see, I was able to do that with one one finger in one hand, the lock up is is good, but not great. There is a little bit of wobble, but it's not something. I think that you'll be concerned with over time does come with 1/2 serrations. This is a, I believe, a 420hc steel blade as far as sharpness

5. The opening and closing of the handles is super stiff like when I'm closing with a blade out to try and get a better grip I'm seriously at risk of slipping and cutting my hand open.

I’ve owned a few of the higher end Leatherman’s and I’m pretty disappointed in the fit and finish of this model. The pocket clip is loose and the overall feel of it feels cheaply made. The spring loaded pliers are a nice feature, but that too feels cheap. I got it for an emergency bag, so hopefully it won’t see a lot of use, because I don’t think it would take it

Their page says "If we can’t repair it, we’ll replace it with a comparable refurbished model" I don't think a Wingman is comparable to a PST, and even disregarding the actual PST model they have on sale right now the Rebar is a better comparison, both size, tool and quality/price wise no?

Warranty claimed my PST, got an email that they'll replace it with a wingman.

I use it daily for 3 years and there is not a single loose string or tear. I machine wash it bi weekly and it just hold. Great product! 

Knives picst

 It is way too heavy to carry in a pocket, so a pouch is a must. Now I have to send it back. I'll get the entry level Gerber, which is five dollars more - $5 that go towards the pouch, no doubt.

 For plier-based tools under $50 I would point you to the Ozark Trail Multiforce at Walmart. It's $40 and is a pretty close copy of the Leatherman Wave+, which goes for $100.

Hi. I'm kinda new to the whole multitool scene since my dad isn't exactly the best with tools or repairing or making things... you get the idea. Going into college, I wanted to grab a multitool so that I can have a tool to use without having to worry about maker space costs and rules, if I'm out and about, etc. I mainly plan on using them for repairs on computers and my bike as I like going mountain biking and hiking often. One of my mentors recommended Victorinox tools but those (or at least the ones he was talking about) were a tad expensive. He also recommended Gerbers but for my range (optimally under near $50 but ultimately under $100), I was looking into the Suspension, Suspension-NXT, and Truss models but they had very, conflicting (?), reviews. Would you guys have any recommendations? 

I'm also kind of new to Reddit so if this is a duplicate I apologize, I couldn't figure out how to search within a sub.

UPDATE: As of current, I was thinking of either the Victorinox Cyber Tool S or the Gerber Suspension-NXT. The Skeletool CX looked very nice but the blade is 0.1&quot; too long, and the Wave+/Multiforce both appear to be around 0.4&quot; too long as well (my limit is 2.5&quot;). Thoughts?

I do NOT need/want another pliers based tool (like most leatherman) but I really don't want just a folding knife

by trade I've been a telco/IT guy, and I'm also an avid camper, and a beginner hiker.

I'm really leaning towards something like a Gerber Armbar Drive,  or even the gerber lockdown pry.   

just something that some decent utility, scissors, and a small blade is fine.   having an exchangeable driver is a huge benefit too

SAK cybertool series is also something I'm looking at pretty hard.

any other ideas?

Looking to add a pocketable, mid sized multi tool, have a surge, and a gerber vyse. something in between

 but I'm not sure why it's snagging I Guess we'll find out as time goes on and we break this tool in for real. But yeah, holy crap. for 40 bucks, this is a hell of a thing. And there's not even security Torx bits on here like the Leatherman right? So you can just stick a regular old Torx in here and get to work like modifying it

 you know, pointing back. So I'm guessing it'll cut in both directions, but we'll do a saw round up here eventually building up the old multi-tool supply before. I Do that one. Here's your serrated blade
