Just by picking up the Kirby it made my Dyson feel like a toy. The Kirby feels very well constructed and I’m excited to have a more quality vacuum than the DC50. I've been collection Kirby Vacuum Cleaners for 13 years. I have vintage Kirby's from the 1940's to a the new Sentria model we purchased just last month.  I find the Sentria to be just as powerful suction wise as any of the Kirby Generation series model's.  The Sentria is much lighter in weight, due to the fact the aluminum housing is much thinner then previous model Kirby vacuum's

 What I've found out is the price is very negotiable and you can get a better deal by being persistent.

I bought a new Sentria the other night. I went through the normal sales pitch and truly believe that the Kirby is a very vacuum. I did try reversing the demonstration that the sales did the night before and vacuum a spot on the floor with my Kirby and then went over the same spot with my other overpriced vacuum (Dyson). I was able to pick up some additional dirt with the Dyson

 I personally believe you could go over the same spot with another brand vacuum and still get more dirt (and my house is clean).  Bottom line is my husband and I liked the Kirby and it's well designed attachments but we told the sales we weren't interested. The rep called his supervisor and he showed up in about 10 minutes. I was promptly asked the normal questions of if I thought that my house, carpet and lungs deserved the Kirby and I said yes but declined purchase at this time

 The salesman quoted us a $900 price but actually based his price on how much we could afford. We gave him a comfortable payment and from then on it was bang,bang, bang and we were talking to the finance company and before we knew what hit us we bought the darn thing. As soon as we signed on the dotted line he were out the door and then we got a reality check. As we really looked at the contract we realized he charged us more than quoted

 But in spite of all of the above we liked the Kirby. We have 3 dogs and it really gets up the pet hair. The shampooer is great and cleans. The attachment for bare floors is great

 Our ordeal was 3 + hours. The salesman WAS high pressure but I was impressed with the cleaning performance of the Sentria. I personally liked the attachments and the shampooer. My husband and I ended up buying the machine for $1100

To Buy or not to Buy that is a good question!

 Same thing happens, another ridiculously large amount of baking soda just explodes into the filter section and he has to shut it off. This happens honestly about another 6 times until it finally seems like the amount of baking soda blasting into the filter starts to tone down a little. It was completely crazy. It made this other uber-expensive $800 vacuum look like a fisher-price toy

 Finally he takes the vacuum and the presses his foot over the top while vacuuming the same spot just to show that there is no chance this vacuum could have missed anything it might be able to get out of the carpet.  The carpet looks spotless at this point - so he brings out the Kirby and then just positions it over the spot and puts a small test filter in the machine which allow you to actually see what dirt is being captured and then seriously, just flicks on the switch. Not even joking - like a full pound of baking soda just exploded into the filter, seemingly out of nowhere. My jaw dropped

 The Kirby just destroyed the other vacuum, it wasn't even fair.  This seems like kind of an absurd thing to posit about a vacuum cleaner, I know. Even I feel it's a little weird that I go around looking at people's eletroluxes or whatever and thinking "what a POS", but that's seriously what it's like. Kind of like every car in the world was a Chevy Astro and then someone introduces a Lamborghini and has a showdown between the two

I bought this on a Saturday after some intense upselling by the local sewing and vacuum store. I exchanged it the following Monday for a Riccar R25P. The good: quiet and the filters do a good job, no dust smell. Sorry Sebo. This is fine as an interim measure to meet the new energy label requirements, but I think a totally new upright is well overdue from your company. I would like to see a Sebo upright with two things

 Now I will never fault Sebo for build quality because their machines are built to last, they started in a commercial environment and they make their domestic cleaners to the same high standard. So what I'm going to be unboxing and assembling today will be a quality vacuum cleaner, but is it good for the cleaning needs of 2018? Well my future demo will hopefully find that out, but anyway let's get it out of the box starting with the handle, so it comes with a 10 metre cable which is starting to become pretty standard with vacuum cleaners, it's really now I think the bare minimum you need with a vacuum, even some come with 12 or 13 metre cables, even if you have a small home it just saves you having to unplug and plug in each time you move to a different room. So there we go, that's the handle and it incorporates a handy thumb operated on off switch. Next out of the bag we have the wand, which also incorporates a stretch hose

 Whether it performs better we'll have to wait and see. So here is the new head, now Sebo have introduced this model to correspond with the latest EU energy ratings, so it is now a lower wattage motor I believe, I'll check but I believe this is an 890 watt motor, the maximum allowable wattage is 900 watts now for vacuum cleaners sold in the EU. It's also increased filtration, now this gets an A rating for dust emission so that is a big improvement on previous models. The head has been slightly changed and they've incorporated a deeper furniture guard to help prevent the machine from getting scuffed during use and this is at the back, this is where the filter is located now on this machine and they've also changed the foot pedal, now it's mainly plastic where it used to have a metal component, they've changed it there
